  Bro saw the retro JDM oversaturation rise again and came back from retirement with a vengeance!

  And honestly, I'm grateful he came back. I don't want to browse mods only to find nothing but Supra, Skyline, AE86, Miata, Civic, etc dominate the catatlog with little to no room for cars, especially modern cars, especially from other countries.

    you do realize that a good part of the MW05 mods section is made out of non lore friendly hypercars and other stuff that doesnt fit with the game at all, right?

    As someone who does like JDM, I do admittedly feel embarrased by the Japanese automotive industry these days. Certainly doesn't help that both Subaru STis I worked on (being the S204 and the S203) make more than half as much power as the most powerful Japanese road cars ever made (Nissan GT-R Nismo R35 and Acura NSX Type S NC1 at 600 HP), meanwhile, everyone else has already blasted past that number to the point where even Korea went past it with the Ioniq5 N at 645 HP, and if the Genesis Gran Berlinetta makes it to production, it will be the biggest shame for Japanese cars, resulting in Japan being the only country without a single road-going hypercar to its name. It only makes matters worse that the Nissan GT-R got the axe recently, thus making the currently-built most powerful Japanese road car at a pathetically weak 472 HP (Lexus V8s), and even then those are close to getting the axe due to horrible sales (the RC F already got axed, and the LC500 got the axe in certain markets), which would only serve to worsen the power ceiling for currently-built Japanese cars. But sadly, at the current rate the Japanese automotive industry is going, things are only going to get worse as everyone else continues to leave Japanese cars behind the dust both in a straight line and on the track and the reliability schtick no longer works for Japan among car enthusiasts.

    Yeah, it really does not look good for the Japanese automotive industry. They can't ride on the past forever nor rely solely on reliability to sell their cars to car enthusiasts anymore. Nowadays, in terms of performance (both track and straight line), they're getting embarrassed by everyone else, even countries not exactly known for making cars (such as Croatia, UAE, Spain, or even Bulgaria).

    Looking at the roster, the ones not made by Aftrmrket are those with no visual customization at all, and many of those are simply addon compatibility updates of older car mods from many years ago. Without Aftrmrket's mods, the vast majority of cars with body customization are the lower end lore friendly cars such as Civic, AE86, Skyline, Supra, Miata, etc, and those cars have already been done to death countless times already. We don't want another Midnight Club 3 situation here where the higher end cars only had rim customization and nothing else.
