Description

CARP.TXT for 1988 Ferrari Testarossa

Myatsoe's Ferrari Testarossa has been used as a base. You can (currently) get it here:

https://www.nfs-cars.com/need-for-speed-high-stakes/2/files/view/1751/

0-100 times might not be too accurate.

It's hard to put this car into a class. It's right in the middle of class A and class AA. It's performance is either highest class A or lowest class AA.

This car has a dash. It's textures are very bad, but nonetheless i've made the speedometer/tachometer needles a bit more accurate than before.

To apply that, extract the dash.fce from the car.viv, open the dash.fce in Zanoza Modeler 1.07b, find the said parts and rename them by the values found inside the "DASH.FCE new part names.txt". Warning: Only works with this specific dash.fce!

Bcoz I highly doubt it's "lowest AA" as I remember it in Rivals where it easily topped 310+ OK, even if it's TR with 290 max, it's way better than M5, I suppose. "Lowest AA" must be 355.

Dude, you can't compare NFS Rivals with automobile-catalog.com. Need for Speed has already started from nfs3 on to create unrealistic specs for cars. I don't want to imagine how it is in a newer game like Rivals. Also make sure not to mix up the Testarossa with the 512TR which is much faster and can indeed reach a top speed of 314km/h. And no, a BMW M5 E39 is a bit faster than the Ferrari Testarossa since it can reach 301km/h. They've put the C5 Corvette into class A, so it's really hard to tell where to put the Testarossa in

Yes, they're the german electronical governers. For me they are a cancer to car culture. EA also has decided not to respect them. What is the sense of a racing game where 50% of the cars are electronically governed to 250km/h? None. If i'd own an E39 M5, i'd immediately remove that stupid speed limiter which was a general agreement from (almost) all german car producers not to exceed 250km/h on powerful motored luxury cars for not having a so called "competition" on which manufacturer's car would be faster. But in the end it's limiting the client in using the car's full potential. It's like buying a coffee machine and you can only make espresso with it, no cappucchino. "No cappucchino allowed". Only when you pay another 2.5k extra and "unlimit" the cappucchino feature.. To me this is pure client exploitation. There might be many customers who want that 250km/h limit (and it would be good for them), but in the end it doesn't make a huge difference if you're doing 250 or 270. You're going to be dead anyway if you crash. Because in most cases, you don't crash because you're going faster another 30km/h or even 50km/h in E39 M5's case, but because of very bad drivers and their decisions which can cost other people's lifes. They've been trying to argue that you need a different type of body (like an additional spoiler)  when you're doing more than 250, but this is only for making additional money. Porsche understood this and has decided not to stick to that limit for a very long time. I don't know about today's cars though.
