Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG [R230] '03
My first project - conversion of 379Felipe's (with his permission) Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG from his NFS C Improvements Mod V2 as a Binary addon car for Most Wanted.
What's there right now and what has to be updated:
- Car model with all textures (except for tire one) and 5 wide body-kits + markers for standard spoilers and roof-scoops;
- Converted available Autosculpt hoods (with some small changes) to regular hoods for MW - still some are duplicated for some reason and 1 is invisible - need to check;
- Decals and Numbers - partially - some are mirrored so need to update those;
- Both 512x and 1024x Vinyls converted, but UV mapping is incorrect as of right now;
- Incorrect Driver position, exhaust positions on some of Body-kits;
- Missing Performance upgrades - only Nitro has 3 stages;
- Binary and VltED scripts are completed (but will be improved with the progress of the mod).

I hope I will dedicate some more time to it within following week and resolve current issues so the car can be published to everyone.

Update #10 - 6 days ago

What's new:
- Anyone here wants to take a windy ride? Roofless option is implemented for SL 55 AMG;
- Added 1 Hood, 1 Spoiler, 2 Mirrors and 2 Steering Wheels from SHIFT 2;
- Replaced 2 original SL 500 Wide Bodykits with NFS PS Narrow Bodykits (bumpers, skirts, exhausts etc.)

What's changed:
- Some tweaks and updates to textures, mappings, decals, meshes etc.;
- Check and optimize DBModelParts file.

What's next on the list:
- Recheck Body Decals for all new Bodykit;
- Convert custom Steering Wheels, Headlights and Brakelights from MCLA;
- Convert 1 additional Wide Bodykit from NFS SHIFT 2;
- Replace last 3 original SL 500 Wide Bodykits with custom narrow Bodykits from NFS C IM Mod.

What's new:
- Converted 1 Wide Bodykit from Midnight Club LA (what a tough task it was!).

What's next on the list:
- Add Body Decals to this new Wide Bodykit;
- Convert custom Steering Wheels, Headlights and Brakelights from MCLA;
- Replace all 5 SL 500 Wide Bodykits with custom narrow Bodykits from NFS C IM and NFS PS.

Update #8 - 19 days ago

What's been added:
- Added 1 Wide Bodykit from NFS ProStreet;
- Added 2 Spoilers, 3 Hoods and 6 Seats from Midnight Club LA;

What's been updated:
- Updated 2 Wide Bodykits previously converted from NFS ProStreet and NFS Shift;
- Updated all previously converted Spoilers and Seats + some of previously converted Hoods with better textures, positioning etc.

What's been doing right now:
- Update previously converted Hoods from NFS ProStreet and NFS Shift with better textures placement (mainly replacing current black texture with Grill or something else);

What will do:
- Finish 2 available narrow Bodykits (bumpers, skirts, exhaust) from NFS Carbon Improvement Mod and convert couple of available narrow Bodykits options from NFS ProStreet and replace SL500 wide Bodykits currently used;
- Add Steering Wheels from Midnight Club LA;
- Check NFS Shift 2 for possible Wide & narrow Bodykits conversion.
- Resolve UV-mapping issue for Vinyls;
- Resolve current wrong specs.

Update #6 - 29 days ago

What's chaged:
- Finished textures, materials and decals on Shift Wide Bodykit (have issue with Wheels Posiition);
- Made 5 Spoilers, converted from Shift and ProStreet (AFAIK) finally showing on their respectfull places. Still issue with CF vatiants (not shown Carbofibre);
- Painted the Dtiver and Passenger seats, ported from Shift - looks goofy but at least I can look at it.

What to do next:
- Resolve issue with Wheels Position on Shift bodykit.
- Resolve missing CF variants of added Spoilers and Hoods;
- Convert and adapt Prostreet Bodykits;

Update #5 - 1 month ago

What's been updated:
- Added 1 Wide Bodykit from NFS Shift's SL 65 AMG model (still have to update some textures and Wheels positions);
- Added 1 more Hood, Spoiler and Roll Cage (all from NFS Shift's SL 65 AMG model);
- Split Steering Wheel from Interior and added 1 more Steering Wheel from NFS Shift's SL 65 AMG model;

What will I update next:
- Still have issues with added Spoilers shown in incorrect positions (positioned them at 0,0,0 and made separate _SPOILER markers for them - still they clip through the trunk);
- Prepare Decals/Numbers positions for newly added Bodykit;
- Check NFS PS/UC to include 2 more Bodykits from those SL 65 AMG models.

What's been updated:
- Finally fixed incorrect Tire texture (many thanks to Riverflo for guidance);
- Replaced SL 500 Interior Texture with SL 65 AMG (which actually is SL 55 AMG, as per Riverflo's information);
- Added 1 Mirror (from 2009 SL 65 AMG model from Forza Motorsport 3);
- Added Performance Upgrades (less than SL 500 obviously);
- Added 2 Roll Cages (from 2009 SL 65 AMG model from Forza Motorsport 3);

What will I update next ():
- Resolve issues with missing Carbon Hoods for different vanilla and custom hoods;
- Update position for a couple of added Spoilers (currently they are sitting mid-Trunk);
- Revamp car stats in VltEd so it will be more potent compared to basic SL 500.

What's been updated:
- All default SL500 Hoods were included + added some of available Autosculpt hoods from original 379_Felipe's model for NFS C. Still some CF variants of Hoods are missing;
- Added 1 Driver and 1 Passenger Seats as Attachments (credits goes to AJ_Lethal for porting those #d models from NFS PS).

What will I update next (hope till end of this week):
- Resolve current issues with not all Hoods visible in-game;
- Check available Autosculpt bumpers and skirts to combine those as unique Bodykits.

What's been updated:
- All 6 Bodykits' decals were remade, no more mirrored or deformed decals or one that were placed behind the antenna (check images with pink background).

What will I update next (hope within next day:
- Place SL500 default Hoods and move/change/remove all current hoods as additional ones.

What is changed/resolved:
- Updated some textures/materials/shaders - most notably - tires, default rims and mirrors;
- Updated Driver position;
- Resolved issue with 2 missing Hoods - now they are visible. Still need to rearrange and rename them;
- Removed "Universal Spoiler Base" due to no need in it and updated a little Spoiler marker for better spoilers positioning;
- Updated all Exhaust markers for all 6 bodykits;
- Changed default brakelights to OFF;
- Added License Plate (by AJ_Lethal) and possibility to change it with Unlimiter;
- Tires also can be changes with Unlimiter.

What is in progress/started work on:
- Added 1 driver's and passenger's seats (by AJ_Lethal) as attachments - still not figured out how to enable those in DBModelParts);
- Resolving Mirrored Decals/Numbers issue on wide bodykits;

What I want to change/update/add:
- Replace all default Hoods with ones from SL500 car and add only distinct ones as additional;
- Add possibility to change calipers/brakes with Unlimiter - this category is shown empty right now;
- Update Unlimiter script - it shows empty Neon Visual category right now, and I don't have a clue how to add it.

      No, I don't think so. Original model don't have it and I don't want to make mistakes with textures/geometry while doing it.

      Also, I don't understand how to remove Roof Scoops Markers for Cabrio (Suppose just create another Marker under the hood and assign it to this 3d object?)

    The bodykits for the SL55 should have some similar, though different changes to make the bodykits more unique, rather than just a boring copy of the SL500 or SL65. This is a very important note.

      Thanks for pointing it out. Currently I am using only meshes from 379_Felipe's NFS C mod, and the available Wide BodyKits there are the same as MW's SL500.

      However, I can combine available Autosculpt bumpers and skirts into couple of not-so-wide body kits from those.

      If it will be ok for the community - I will check such possibility.

    You might want to replace the interior texture with the one from the SL65, since initially that texture belongs to the SL55, but the car got changed into an SL65 last minute

    Also, you might also wanna give the stock brake discs drilled ones since thats how they look like fresh off the factory

      Ahh, thanks for this info.

      I will try to replace the Interior texture with one from MW's SL65 model.

      Also, I've already replaced the brake disks with ROTOR2 generic MW texture - it has drills and looks way cooler.

      By the way, do you know if Carbon/Prostreet/Undercover have different Bodykits for SL65 so I would use one of those?

      ProStreet/Undercover does have an exclusive bodykit, but i wouldnt recommend you fitting them on this model you got from Carbon


      also additional note, please fix the tire tread texture

      Maybe you could help me with understanding how to enable Performance upgrades? Some link with newby-level of explanations?
