EA TO OWN THE STREETS THIS FALL WITH NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND 2

Sequel to Best-Selling Racing Game of 2003 Offers Massive, Free-roaming Game World

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—April 23, 2004 — Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:
ERTS) today announced the development of Need For Speed™ Underground 2
under the EA GAMES™ brand. Need for Speed Underground 2 is the sequel
to Need for Speed Underground, which has sold more than five million copies
worldwide since its release in November 2003.

Need for Speed Underground 2 will challenge gamers to immerse themselves in
the tuner culture, exploring an expansive, free-roaming city divided into five
distinct neighborhoods. Gamers will encounter rival racers who will initiate
events, tip players off to the hottest racing spots, and show them where to
buy the most sought-after licensed aftermarket upgrades.

The game will feature new game modes, deep new performance customization and
tuning, and more than 30 licensed cars. The game also delivers twice the visual
customization upgrades as the original game, providing a staggering 70 billion
possible car combinations for total automotive self-expression.

Need for Speed Underground 2 is currently under development by EA Canada and
is scheduled for release in fall 2004 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment
system, Xbox® video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube™,
PC, and Game Boy® Advance. This game has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

Hmmm. That's all I can say. I'm not surprised by this, (even though I do intend to someday buy UG1 or UG2), I'm not sure if this is good news or not. With all the awesome supercars coming out that EA could be putting into a classic NFS game, EA instead decides to continue with Need For Rice.

Just think of all the awesome cars that should be put into a game like NFS:HS - The Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, Ford GT, Konigsegg CC, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes-McLarin SLR, you name it. Why, EA, why?!?!

Just wait my friend... they're not done with the exotics... that's all I can say. But can you blame them? UG was a HUGE seller for them.. and as we all know, running a business is all about profit

Yet another NFS that I wont get. Oh well, GT4 will be out by fall so I will have something interesting to play for a couple years :P

It's too bad that the company only directs attention to one specific game at a time - why not use Tiburon, or another studio to make a newer addition of NFS4 - when the both come out at the same time, you have the potential to hit both markets and make a whole lot of money at the same time. EA - be fair to us who are still down for the grassroots NFS series, which made you what you are today.

Thats a shame. I didn't but NFSU and I won't buy NFSU2. They just sold 2 less copies.

I will Be Playing Colin McRea 04 & Richard Burn's Rally Pc Game's this Spring & Summer. They are 2 Great Games i FeeL.
They Have Replay Mode also ;) I enjoy that! Peace my NFS`G PaL's ;}

I dont even have all the info...but from what I gather, it was a server move, and i'm also guessing there was a dns error.

server move/DNS error is correct. We swtiched servers yet again (this one should be nice and fast) and had to change the DNS for racerplanet.com. Everything should be back and up for good now.... and I'll be back into the swing of things this weekend also

I was wondering (I dont think you got my email because the web-based email addresses seem to have problesm at the moment) if you could re-enable my admin access perhaps? This 2nd server switch disabled my old login after all, unlike the 1st time. :p Cheers if you can do something.

Welp, I'm officially retiring, or as you can say "quitting" NFSGarage - no fancy exit news post or anything, I'm just done. Wish everybody the best of luck - keep the good work up there Remko.
