Description

Higher quality model as EA replacement plus a few minor fixes. (No I am not copying this from the NFS3 version)

Features:

  • Polycount ranges from 2921 to 3104 for the highest LOD parts combined.
  • Two files for each version, with and without LODs. Pick your poison, but at 3k it shouldn't cause framedrops.
  • Much more accuarate body shape, interior shape and texture -carried over and upgraded from the NFS3 version.
  • All cars are damageable. Spoiler remains in :OS to save polycount so that part won't get damaged. It's a compromise.
  • All police liveries included (most of them reused from vanilla), plus a bonus one accessible by editing the .VIV -we all know which one is it.
  • NFS3 sound -credits to pete.
  • Dashboard was left unmodified cos I've had enough.
  • Carried over the correct names and larger colour palette from the NFS3 version.
  • Restored the fucking SV logo colours from start. PSX-inspired stripes are added to compensate Upgrade 3 -credits to Schnoobler for these.
  • Upgrades following vanilla's upgrade structure, resembling a real life variant.
  • Revised performance to get rid of the AWD factor and rebalance around it -SV's were RWD.
  • Original driver model had no legs, so spared 4 more polygons for him. 7:^D Rest is the same.
  • Support for my extra lights colours patch. Yay halogens.

Known issue: wheels will clip thru the body upon extreme suspension damage, not much I can do about that, I think. IF it is something that can be tweaked in CARP please let me know, although extreme clipping in menu would probably still happen. Also ODL and OC don't move with suspension damage in the menu so stuff can become wonky. Nothing that I can do about that. Unless it's something that works with axis and stuff in geometry, in that case please tell me and I will fix it.

Included in the zip there are the full source for these models as .Z3D with materials for easier UV selection and editing, all .TGAs, a template .TGA for the police version, and .PDN file with all alpha maps and stuff separated into layers. Model is fully free to be picked on for any project, just don't forget to credit.

Also attached a library file with the wheels geometry, some dummy presets, materials to aid working and exhaust, for anyone that likes these parts and want to use them at will.

As it is a converison from my NFS3 model, it's still modeled after Real Racing 3's proportions, so also credits to that team.

Many thanks to zipper, pete, AJ_Lethal, schnoobler and NFSF1McLaren for various assists and feedback during the development.

I personally won't be working on these conversions any longer, only did this one as excersise and because I absolutely depise what they did to the poor Diablo. And to show why I don't work in NFS4.
