Tips for uploading cars

Occasionally, we get cars uploaded the wrong way - sometimes this makes things just a bit unorganized, but sometimes this also keeps the cars from being verified and added to the collection. I thought it'd be a good idea to give a few tips on how to use the Upload Script the best way:

- Please submit both a thumbnail and a big preview image, both in .jpg format.
About the thumbnail: please take the time to create one that is 146 pixels wide and 109 pixels high. I know it says 128 x 96 on the upload page, but this is an error that will probably be corrected in the near future. Smaller pictures will be stretched, bigger pics will be squeezed into those 146 x 109 dimensions. Please don't submit fullsize screens; a 100 kilobyte image is not really a thumbnail.

- When you fill in the name of the car, please don't use the ' apostrophe to display the model year, like in:
'66 Ford Mustang or '03 Dodge Viper.
Unfortunately, this currently confuses the verification script, which means that the car cannot be added to the site, even when uploading went error-free. Instead, rather write something like:
1966 Ford Mustang or Dodge Viper (2003).

- Please don't forget to use any of the three 'browse' buttons at the top of the page; sometimes submissions arrive without images, without Zips, or without both. ;)

- Don't submit anyone else's car as your own - you WILL get found out sooner than you think.

Of course, if you experienced any kind of error using the Upload script, that keeps you from submitting your hard work to our site, please let us know via mail or by replying here, so that we can look into it.

Thanks, and keep 'em coming! ;)
