Have you seen the cursor in the third logo?

well, may be u guys call me some flammer or whatever.. but I am typing what I really felt about these three images at first sight. Obviously poeple take only one look at logo and whole thing is explained to them.

i just wana say, all these three images really SUCK. why I am saying this? because Iam also a professional graphic designer and I examined these images with tech. point of view.

Image1: whats going on out there? a viper in background and an idiot face planted over a bad figured lady. what is the color scheme? how this type of resolution can be used as a logo? everything is dark which is an old fashion.

Image2: Even more worse than the first one. Little character and again a cropped viper in background. image's color scheme is not good and old fashioned.

Image3: whoever made it, what he is trying to show? Though first two images explain a littlebit about the addons website but what u r trying to show in this image? just acar slipping or drifing or what? do this thing have any relationship with addons website.

guys guys guys, please dont mind what I said above but that is strictly positive critisism. I appreceate u guys that u even tried, but I dont think they will suit the website.

I wana give some suggestion to mods here, please spend some money and get a logo made for ur site by professionals, instead of using these logos.

Today's fashion is bright n fresh colors.

i am an art student, Power^Steer|nG, i know abou that too, its alot about catrishion and stuff, but those images where made by people who never really did stuff like that before, they just wanted to take part on that contest, for the fun, and to win that game.
i supplied the "sample" images to the admin, wich i didnt want to take part in here, because this is was contest for the comunity, not for us artists...

and speaking of this, i see your post as a flame. you can go here, see those few peoples who have joined the contest, look at their pics and say OMG THAT SHIT SUCKS, YOURE WORTHLESS FUCKS!
next time, just put in the "ideas" and not all that "these images really SUCK!"
that big suck is kind of an insult.

conclusion: the idea of getting comunity members, and use their self made pics to advertise the website is fantastic, it brings the comunity and the game into one layer, these guys here actually took part in something featured in the game...yeah its only an advertising, but cant you see that it may mean something to them?
Instead of you saying IT SUCKS!!!!! and youre oh so good...just take part next time.

First of all, I didn't see any entries from you, powersteering :)

Secondly, the point of the logos is to get you to look at them. I think both do that. They will be going into the game, as billboards. So when you are driving around in NFS carbon, you'll see these logos somewhere around the game. With that in mind, they will need to catch your attention since you will only see them for a split second. I think they all do that. Yes, you're right that they wouldn't be suitable for a web logo, but that is not what it is being used for.

If I was looking for a "real" logo, to use on shirts and stuff, then obviously I'd contract that to a graphic designer that knows about the print industry. I work in web design too, so I know all this stuff :)

First off, congrats to the winners. (car in the 3rd shot looks familiar, heh :p)

Second, I have to back RickT up here; I think Powersteering was missing the point here, which was to give community members a chance to get in the spotlights rather than getting a new permanent NFSaddons Logo.

As a 'Pro' you should always take into account the circumstances under which a design is being made, or under which restrictions. (For example, the time span available for creating and submitting the designs was only like 48 hours)

well, Rick, Mike and remko, u r right. but I told u that I type what i really felt. I am not one of those who only say "wow", "amazing", "fantastic". well, if u take my words from the other side, those who made it, can take an idea of what they did wrong in it. No doubt these are the best images among the competetors, thats y they got selected, and I u see, I also appreciated makers.

Well, lemme show u a design of a visiting card I made for myself in photoshop ..AND I DID IT IN 15 MINUTES. I created Idea and made it. I am nowt showing it to u because its my work, i am just showing it because its the latest design idea and color sceheming. Rick, u can flame this shit :D because I need some more good idea and u know, I lobve critisism.

I don't think anyone will treat you any differently for expressing your opinion. We encourage that here :)

As for your card, it looks pretty nice. Won't print to a business card very well though, because of the gradients etc :p

in art school i learned the basics of printable colors, your grandiet doesnt fit into that scheme too much, so it wont come out too great

oh god, printable color theory is so f-ed up,
this and this colors will work on econimc paper, this and that on normal paper, this and that on fine paper, this and that here and there...gah..

well, i dont mind them, and as mike and rick said, its for game billboards, MY design, shows alot of what Carbon and nfscars has to offer.

if you noticed, the charger has utilized all of what the game entails, and it promotes visiting nfsaddons as you will find muscle cars as well as exotics and god forbid tuners. to download for all your nfs needs.

I really appreciate your tone when critizing my piece, and I shall do the same as yours, plain, yeah there's color, but the whole bevel and cutout shapes is SO oldschool., you consider yourself being a professional, lets see some more REAL proof, not some business card that lacks inginuity.

well, I meant nfsaddons in the first paragraph there, I typed nfscars as I had realized while typing out that comment that I had been unbanned today from nfscars.

so yeah, my design shows alot of what nfsaddons has to offer using simplicity.

and that mouse, the little bugger was in there and i didnt realize until after I had already submitted my piece.

well being a professional, I will say that, u knnow Rick, we design cars...and we are not bounded by polycount...well, u and all know that if u model a car for someone or for some game, for money, you are bounded about polies...just like high stakes, 800 polies/car. So what I mean to say that professionals also have to keep in mind the requirement of client. The card I designed is the requirement of my client. This is purely not my card...as client wanted me to design some darkisg type jolly colors, as he likes orrange color..haha..and even he wants me to design his company logo in orrange n blue...what a fucking color scheme but I am bounded..so I can do nothing..

ok but.. I will show u my own ideas...so u people will be free to critisize me and I will be happy to get more ideas from u. You know that learning never ends....even a Pope is not full in his knowledge.... :)

i know alot about clients too, and there are some clients wich will not be a good reason to consider yourself a professional.

yeah polycounts...i model cars for money right now (thoo i am pretty annoyed by freelance work right now), and i know what you mean :)
still, please, if you call yourself a professional, at least use HKS colors.

sure, but not if its about printing them out in matching colors.

HKS is not the style everywhere. and as u said, these cards are not supposed to be in gradients.. then there is no HKS.
