How to send in screenshots correctly

We have been getting a lot of screenshots sent in recently, both for the NFS MW Showroom, as well as for the Screen Of The Day (SOTD).
Sometimes though, these screens don't get added to the site until several days later. The reason for this, is that we get a lot of 'wrong' submissions. Because we don't always have time to fix these manually, my request is, to please stick to the following guidelines when sending screenshots to our site - it will really help smooth things out. ;)
First off: Jpeg (.jpg) format ONLY. NFS MW's own screenshot function (F12) saves as Targa (.tga) files, other screencapturing tools like Fraps often save as Bitmap (.bmp) format. Converting these to Jpegs is NOT a case of simply re-naming the .tga ot .bmp extension to ".jpg", our upload script cannot handle these images. The proper way is to convert them with a paint- or photo-edit program. That doesn't have to be professional software like Adobe Photoshop, the following tools are either freeware or shareware, and work just as easily:
- Irfanview: Download
- ACDSee: Download
- JPEG Optimizer: Download
Second: please use the MW Showroom only for showing off your customized cars; it's okay to send in an "in-game" screenshot, as long as your car is clearly visible. Screens that only show crash or action moments from the game, that is what the Screen Of The Day (SOTD) is for, and that is why we will move such screens to that section from now on.
Please keep the image size 1024 x 768 or so at the most (especially if you're sending in a digital photo); not everyone's got a 21 in monitor yet. ;) And please, no photos of real cars, official EA screens, or other off-topic stuff, that's what we have a delete button
for.
Thanks for cooperating, and hope to see many more of your screens on the NFSgarage!
