Pardon my hurried post, but it appears that the NFS MW demo is out.
Finally, I might add. ;)

Remko,did you try out the demo yet? Can you let me know if your Pc has any shuttering with the game play at all. I havent got a hold of Xp yet. :(

I've played the demo a couple times so far, and I must say, I like it! The physics are great, the way the cars slide around, feels a lot more like real life. Can't wait for the full version to come out.

Cheers Mike, for fixing the newspost. I was in a bit of a hurry to post it. :p

I also like the demo a whole lot, it runs a lot better on my sub-par system than i expected. I have a 1ghz AhtlonXP with 512 mb ram and an ATI 9600pro videocard, and I can run it at 1024 with most settings on medium with 20-25 fps and occasional framedrops in some areas. I do set the visual quality to low though, because the motion blur has a big effect on the framerate.

I really like the playing area with a mor detailed city with lost more shortcuts, alleys, driving through some buildings etc. Traffic looks more realistic and varied which makes the city more 'alive'. Plus the open road with mountains and Hometown-style villages feel a lot closer tol the Classic NFS.
But the game really comes alive once you do the Pursuit challenges, I haven't played a demo this much since Battlefield 1942. =)

When i Install the Xp Pro CD in my CD player will it do a Reformat for me? On my old Win98SE? I was told it would? Do you know at all Remko.Thx also for the info.

If you install XP on the same machine that has Windows 98, then yeah, it will ask you to reformat. So you should backup and vital data/emails that you have

I wasn't impressed with the demo as you were Remko, my comp is similar to yours (I have an ATI radeon 9600XT, athlon 1.87Ghz, and 512 ram) but the demo semed to run kinda slow, and i dont like the bloom and brightness effect in the game as well as the constant brownish/yellow tint of the game. I'm more used to realistic racing games now and this is defanitely lacking in that department. Also my racing wheel didnt work with the game becasue it wouldnt recognize input from the brake pedal. Actually my negative impression might just be fromhow the game's focus is completely on street racing rather than providing a realistic experiance or good variety of game modes.

But, I did enjoy the persuit mode quite a bit and am glad they brought that back; it reminded me of how much fun I used to have playing NFS4...

I agree with you that I found the colour scheme very dominant, and the Speed Blur was also very interfering with visibility (not to mention it's dab for your fps). After a while, I turned Visual Treatment 'off' and the colors reverted to a more normal scheme. Thankfully this doesn't mean you lose details or the atmospheric sky changes.
I expect many players to turn this off, just like I did with Underground 2's Over-bright & Contrast settings.

Regular point-to-point races don't feel very special, true, the game doesn't really shine until you start the Pursuit Challenges.

The steering wheel problems is something a lot of people have complained about, so you're not alone in this; Electronic Arts really needs to address this if they don't want to put people off. Also, the online modes feels a bit like an afterthought, not very community-friendly.

Thanks for the Tips Remko & Shaken,Ah does the Demo have Replay Mode at all (Ijust Hope so.!)
All i have been able to do so far is watch these Movie's That JeffR Made. So..I heard Santa say i have to wait for my Xp & the Game (Sux) lol
Thanks Mike for the Xp Help sounds easyer anyways on the Reformat. Hassels I dont really have any stuff to Back up i dont have any CD Burner at all and i dont do NFS:HS anymore so thx :}

I meant does the demo have many Replay Views at all. I just hoped it does.

Sorry man, no Replay mode in NFS MW. All we get is the 'jump cam' in some places, just like it was in NFS HP2 and Underground 1. :(

This, together with the absence of a Be-The-Cop mode are probably my biggest peeves with the game so far.

Hi so your saying the Replay mode is Like NFS:HP`2 That you Cant change the View at all. so its just a Front View then? I cant see how that JeffR Guy made his Replay Video's? Maybe it wasent a PC Platform? Ok Cya Man.
