NFS: Most Wanted rumours

Sorry for posting this old news; the article that started the rumours about the next NFS is almost a month old, but I don't think everybody has seen it yet...

In short: the next NFS supposedly won't be an Underground game, it will go back to its roots by focusing on Police chases, and the car roster is said to be a mix of import, exotic, and muscle.
Keep in mind that there has been NO confirmation by EA on this story, in fact, EA rep Jon directly classified it as 'speculation' (although he DID hint at the 'Most Wanted' name in an earlier post...) on the Racerplanet forums. There also hasn't been any other news on this topic so far.
If the previous years are anything to go by, EA will probably make an announcement around this year's E3 (May 17th). Until then, it's probably best to take the bold claims from SPOnG.com with a grain of salt, but it's always fun to speculate, right? ;)
