NFS Underground 2 Demo Available

Well, I guess one has to be careful what one wishes for, as the sheer number of downloads (5400 - no joke) pretty much brought the server to its knees in the past 2 days. Hence Mike's decision to remove the mirrored NFS U2 demo from the NFSG site.
I guess you could say there is some interest in this demo, despite its size...

hmmm, not a bad demo, some nice featres in it, didnt hold my attention for more than 20 min though.

I also thought the demo was nice. If you cannot stand 'rice' then I fear you may not be convinced, but I liked the new feel to the physics.
I tried the 350z from the first NFSU to compare it, and I think the driving itself may be more interesting here than it was in the first game, i.e. when to use brakes or even e-brake, where the first game was more arcade-y.

The sounds made the biggest impression on me though, the engine sounds (and the gearchanging) are a lot 'meatier'.
Graphically I like that it feels a little lighter and colourful - though that could be the neighbourhood (Beacon Hill; sort of Beverly Hills - like). The changing skies and weather also add variation.

Oh, and there is -thankfully- a cinematic replay mode again (as it should be, heh) One does not have the same kind of control as we had in NFS3-4-5, but it's neat all the same.

Yeah, I've always wondered why they killed the cool replay stuff :(

I agree that the replay cams were a great feature of the older NFS games, its too bad that EA is doing away with such basic features like lights, horns, dash views, and the pursuit mode too.

To be honest those are about the only uploads we've had recently, and I still have barely time to play the game, let alone play-test & upload stuff myself. :(

I havent taken any in a while because, for some reason, I cant get my NFS4 to work anymore.

yeah, I'm on XP, but I used to be able to run NFS before, on XP, and now I can't. I'll try that method and see if it helps.
