General NFS, All Versions

Got word from EA that there is a patch in the works for the NFS Underground Demo. I know, I'm a bit late with the news, but better late than never. Here's a list of fixed the patch will address:

Fixed the lobby scrolling crash

Fixed the dual highlights in lobby room

Extending chat length

Fixed bug that automatically highlighted chat bar when scrolling through player names

Adding Tab button to select chat bar

Fixed many cheats/exploits

Fixed reputation issues with disconnects in-game

Fixing drop to desktop when pressing keys on the Marketing Screen

Added functionality to detect players tampering with physics.

Working on disconnects occurring due to joining full game lobby multiple times

Fixing Lap Time Exploits

the patch should be available sometime this coming week. Also, they are going to be banning any cheaters:

"On a side note, we will begin permanently banning players from the Demo in the coming weeks that continue to use cheats. They will still be able to get a ?second chance? on the retail version but will not be able to play the Demo online. We are taking cheating very seriously in this game and will not allow a select few to ruin the online experience for everyone else."

Mike - it's important.

one of the pop-up ad's from "download.onenet" contains a trojan virus - can you see to it that this banner ad is removed, and the owners contacted - I will bust their balls when I get home too.

the banner that pops up says "Loading..." in the menu bar title - but you can't select the banner ad.

Hmm, there shouldn't be any pop-ups. Are you sure you don't have any spyware?

Isn't a demo supposed to be like...a completed full version. Shouldn't this have been tested out already? Go EA!

I think you might have spyware. go to Link and download Ad-aware, it's really good at getting rid of Spyware.

nope - no spyware - and I don't use ad-aware - it sucks :)

I use SPYBOT Seach & Destroy - works better.

system was clean also. haven't seen it since then.

I strongly agree with this - if people cheat, they should not be allowed to play - it takes the fun out of the game. any game :)
