Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) Tracks

This pack contains a Binary script to install Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) tracks into Underground.

This is a quick 'n' dirty port, provided as-is (a simple package). More extensive features (and other code issues) require code hooks which is not the point of this mod. The general idea is to utilize Underground's feature set and stay limited there.

Installation

1. Launch Binary

2. Select User Mode

3. Open "Install.end"

4. Point it to NFS Underground's installation directory

5. In the Quick Race menu you should see the tracks available under "Circuit", "Sprint" and "Free Run"

Known Issues

• Crowd noise after the intro NIS - this is a bug with the game, hardcoded ambiance noises play depending on the track, this one is stuck on Track 1001

• Stuttery spin/rotation animations - this is due to reused animations from Underground, needs more research

• Missing waving flags in Palm City Island - needs animation research to simulate flipbooks

• Z-fighting and messy baked shadows - known issue, needs more detailed editing (this is a straight port)

• Wrong background in the track select menu - another hardcoding in the game, needs code hooks to fix

• Tumbleweeds and other smackables make metal clanking sounds on collision - Underground is missing sounds for this, so metal sounds take their place

• Sun flare is missing - HP2 feature, cut from Underground, requires a code hook to fix
