I thought weaza was coded in ini. )

This is not about the weather files EvoX, this changes which files are actually loaded
EvoX28 days ago
@pete9516 I am not getting then. Does it add smth into the frd. files then?
pete9516Addon author28 days ago
@EvoX It's hard for me to explain this when i've already explained it in the description and the screenshot is actually the very perfect explanation itself.. It simply adds support for TrW.frd TrW0.qfs TrNW.frd and TrNW0.qfs.. I can't explain it any better

So instead of having the "Tr.FRD" that loads for the daytime and daytime with weather condition and the "TRN.FRD" that loads for nighttime and nighttime with weather on, we can now have 2 separated extra-FRDs for the weather conditions so it would be possible to add some specific weather effects for the tracks (or putting in a completely new track)?!? That is neat! :thumbsup:

But... Maybe it's just because I am to old to understand new things. But you should tell us how to install your patches.. shouldn't you? I mean this is just an "Asi"-file inside so we probably need a second hand tool like an Asi-loader to make it work?!? If so, I would add it inside your zip-file and tell the people in the readme how to use it... It would make your mods somehow accessable for people like me. Seriously... I have no idea how to install your mods.. ;)

I've already did that in my earlier plugins, i wasn't aware that i still need to explain it. I've included the ASI Loader before and decided not to include it for the future so it doesn't unnecessary fill the download. I really can't make a tutorial for every single mod. And it's not that hard: You just respect the file structure from the download and you install an older ASI Loader called version.dll or dinput.dll. You can grab one from the DynamicUphillCrashFix if i remember correctly. I also included the original link there

And yes track modding is now just way more flexible. Especially talking about pedestrians missing or having umbrellas, or the Shadow Ray Tracer, etc. Vertex colouring

@pete9516

I think it's better to handle every upload as it could be the first one for someone... I mean... to make it idiot-proof for someone who might be "new to the game". Not everyone downloads every fix and patch and knows how to use them... for me many of your patches like the DynamicUphillCrashFix were uninteresting till now as I avoid playing with stupid tracks like DolphinCoaster (the only one that needs this patch?!?). But thanks for clearing up.

I still think that putting the ASI-loader into every file that uses it would be a good idea to have everything in one place and being independent from other files in the internet that might vanish in some time... And a little instuction how to use it wouldn't hurt either... that's what a ReadMe-file is for ;)

@pete9516 sorry man, there will always be a difference between a simple user (me) and a programmer like you) I would need a video or smth, to see how to install yo toolz and how they are Werking. :) no offense, I hope.
pete9516Addon author28 days ago

@Cooya! Dolphin Coaster is definitely not the only one which needs this patch and it's a fantastic track ^^ You just need to have well made cars as well. You can even climb those hills with class B cars

In theory you are right, but practically who's downloading my plugins? Literally nobody. Almost. If somebody has problems installing, just post a comment here. I won't even bother for people who're continously giving 1/10 votes on my mods.. I create this for myself and when it's finished i'll publish it. Just like anybody should do with his mods. I don't really want to include ThirteenAG's libraries just because others don't have to read. Maybe i'll add a 1 liner in the description which goes like "You need to have Ultimate ASI Loader installed named version.dll or dinput.dll" like i've did in the very first plugin release

And there is no tutorial how to actually use the ASI Loader. It's a dynamic link library which you have to put into your game folder which then loads .asi files which are also dynamic link libraries, just renamed for compatibility reasons.

@EvoX Did you even download any of the plugins and had a look at the file structure? You know for 20 or more years how to install tracks and cars and showcases but you can't install simple files into the main folder of the game? There's a file structure included for a reason. I don't want to spam the description with unnecessary text when i've properly prepared the folder structure from the download .zip to just be able to copy & paste
pete9516Addon author28 days ago
@Cooya! It turns out that i even explained it on most of the plugins and even gave very exact screenshots how and where to put the files, but i will "update" this flaw on the remaining plugins and eventually include the version.dll
pete9516Addon author28 days ago(edited)
@Cooya! It's also not quite legal to republish other people's work within somebody's own mods, that's why i've stopped doing that. You can't just take somebody's ASI Loader and republish just anywhere without giving credits. It's risky and not cool
rata_53628 days ago
@pete9516 Alternatively, you could either upload the .ASI loader crediting the creator and a link to their github, or provide the link to their download link for ASI Loader in the mod's description. And naturally, explainig (copypasting from a previous mod) that it is an .ASI plugin and it requires ASI Loader etc etc etc.
pete9516Addon author28 days ago
@rata_536 Well i've did exactly that in most of the plugins even with screenshots which exactly show how to install the mods.. But Cooya! is right. It's better for every plugin to be independent from each other. And there's a 1000 different ASI Loaders out there and most won't even work in this game so i will just include it like in my DynamicUphillCrashFix plugin

@pete9516 I downloaded it on phone first. Didn't have any idea of asi and never used that. Da readme says exactly what u said here. Now that I unpacked the filez, it's clearer now. Itsa strange that u get 1/10 for yo Werkz( pretty embarrassing. Maybe I am already far from the time when this gave me a f.. or smth. Really, don't mind. Sum people can make a bad move on a phone screen, like me) Pleaz take it Izzy :)
pete9516Addon author24 days ago
@EvoX You are actually right in what you say, but people should treat the possibility of rating something with respect and actually rate the mod instead of the author. Also if by accident 1 rates a negative vote, make sure to correct it if it was not intended to
EvoX24 days ago(edited)
@pete9516 from me it's always minimum 9😎👍🏁same about Jim, Butch, Pomfrit and other legends. Because I'm comparatively weak at modding smth and I know how much time it takes.
