Description
Update/full car d/l for 1987 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L 'chimera' car (hardtop as well as convertible) ..
Featured updates in v2 since first uploaded version: rescaled rims (in depth and diameter), partly adjusted normals, improved molder textures (shaded and broader stripe), the car is as well backfitted to original car with air inlets by the fenders ..
The car is further downscaled now to real size based on the car's wheelbase of 2.55m (100.5")
original base car by DodgeBoy '1987 Ford Mustang GT' (see 'original_readme.doc)
*this is one car of a small Mustang series once done by NJ (XJ220) and me I have updated and reworked in recent time ..*
The convertible option hides or lets hardtop roof and side windows appear ..
Extract 'car.viv' to folder '87GT' (or create new folder) in your Datacars directory to overwrite/update car.viv
Copy, move or extract the VidWall file '87GT.qfs' (same as v1) to your DataFeDataVidWall folder and ..
have fun! :D

But... there are still some little things that bother me somehow:
1) It´s not centered correctly so the wheels are sunken in the ground in the players car menu... Just a little click in FCE-centerer and I repaired it for myself... so no big deal here...
2) The windows turn solid black with cracks instead of transparent with cracks after crashing the car. I think It´s possible to fix with detaching the glass parts from the :HB-part and attaching them again after that... but I´m not sure anymore as my active NFS-modding time is sooo long ago...
3) I am not too happy with the new super-wide colortrim around the car... for me it was besser in V1... and less blurry ;) ...but this is a minor issue, too
...But: What REALLY bothers me is your scaling. It´s fantastic that you mind about scaling and making your cars fit together what is often a real issue... but I have really no idea where you got your scaling-factor from as it seems to fit absolutely nothing in NFS4... not the tracks (okay... thats unfair as the track textures are really huge sometimes) , not the default cars, not the custom cars... I know its hard to find a suitable sollution that satisfies everyone but compared to every single car I have in my "contemporary random 49-car-roster from many different authors" it looks like some kind of a childrens electric toy car...
I don´t want to sound rude and I am really not in the position to judge as this is a thing of personal preference but for my personal taste you should re-think your scaling factor ;)
I need to reinstall HS with the Modern Patch to test your cars. I'm glad you're working on improving these classic gems. I was doing the same with my own cars but stupid me decided to play with fire and add an unformatted HDD to my gaming machine... Result was an HDD conflict and my whole games HDD was erased with all the progress I had on the cars, all the tools, HS installs, etc. So I lost motivation. Maybe I go back to them one day.
to 1: it is on purpose that I set cars a dash or two lower on mini grid to have an in-game 'flexed tires' impression, it's not that I wouldn't know how to properly center a car :D
Real cars' tires (I assume that you own a car?) except for those super high pressure nitrogen gas filled less-than-low profile racing tires also 'sink' in a little by the weigth compression unless the car is lifted by a hydraulic ramp ;)
Unless you want to run on unrealistic solid rubber toy car tires? xD
to 2: I cannot tell about that since I do not use in-game damage nor do I do damage models have to test out that perhaps .. :o
Could be for reason that the windows are being set 'non-transparent' and made clear by alpha channel method for tinted windows impression and the sunstripe .. more or less a matter of 'what you will and what you get' maybe :o
to 3: that's actually a matter of 'one pixel's width' we already know that -LOL
to 4: that's an issue to be better discussed in a new editing thread about 'car scales' or of that kind since would take too far afield here .. :D
only thing I can tell about is that it was by the same token always also annoying me to sometimes have child drivers sitting in too large cars making long arms for they can at least reach the steering wheel .. :p
test it , import a car and switch to 'real meters' in ZModeler and compare the wheelbases among your cars to real values :o
btw it's as well just a click in CarCAD to upscale it to a whatever desired size again ;) I recommend the Standard 106% NFS4 oversize btw ..
The car to come is outta schedule kinda being a real classic beast tho .. and it is NOT scaled in any way .. that better? Not telling here is real sudden surprise .. you may as well look up skirt that one literally xD
Do you have a list of what cars and/or tracks you miss the most? Maybe we can help the 'Dark Palatine' to brighten up again? :)
JP and NUH cars were the only ones I know were being correctly scaled agreed :D
Of NUH I know were using professional CAD software that's why ..
If you look for example at the Polizei T4 it isn't touched in size in any way ..
But, u know me I had to change the Siren lights ;)
Perhaps a vector would also look awesome on a German police car eh? xD
That's why I love LED lightbars on newer cars .. simply change the dummys' colors - that's it ::) -LOL
The collection of addon cars I have are backed up in the cloud so I can recreate the installs relatively easily.
.. and it couldn't be restored by for example 'GetDataBack' HDD rescue programs? That's bad .. :(
But if that particular HDD is not yet formatted I can send it to you if you want to? They're not large files, 3MB zipped each for both FAT32 and NTFS version ..
Should be at least possible to regain all *.z3d files on a deep search maybe?
