As the title suggests, what happened to all those NFS modding websites? Like NFSGarage,NFSCARS,and some more I can't remember...They had a HUUUUGGGGEEEE collection of mods of all kinds, the cars, skins of cars, graphical mods, maps mods, handy tools, map tracks etc. Now there's not many, only a few mods for stuffs compared to the amount there used to be,plus modding websites too, currently I am seeing like, only 2 or 3...what happened in the past 5-7 years? I missed so much...about the world and stuffs...everything...damn...even the Audi R8 or the Mazda RX7 for NFSHP2 isn't available anymore...I'm sad :(

You're on NFSGarage right now :) Re-branded as NFSAddons years ago

NFSCars recently went offline, there is a torrent floating around with a backup from ~2021 of all the files that they had. Lots are being re-uploaded here now

I was reinstalling the game after upgrading to windows 11. I forgot to save my most wanted intallation and I was looking to add my favorite car, the 66 oldsmobile toronado that replaces the cobalt ss. I went to Nexus mods and almost everything was gone... I hope someone uploads it here.

I think these sites are gone due to a phenomenon known as internet rot which occurs for a number of different reasons. I hate to say it but I believe the golden era of nfs modding and internet in general is behind us. Fortunately there's a few sites like this one still online. I hope more of the old stuff is uploaded to complement the great new mods coming out each week.

As far as I know, NFSAddons was NFSGarage long time ago, and is still living this day.

For NFSCars, I don't know what caused it to shut it down, but since most mods were uploaded only on that site due to it was more popular over 10 years ago and are exclusive to NFSCars, the sudden closure of NFSCars made most mods to become lost media, because let's face it, some media becoming lost is something we don't really want. Some people like Ikfes and AJM3899 made their mods exclusive to NFSCars (for now and as far as I know). Hope NFSCars will come back some time later, but if it won't, well...
For other sites, I remember there were also NFSUnlimited dot net (not to be confused with NFS Unlimiter) and DrivingPassion (formerly GTRCars). The former site is barely if even active site since they weren't active for the most of the time, and of course, it had few mods, but many, if not all of the links are suffering from link rot, and the latter is where it had some exclusive mods like Normo's Evo X for NFS Underground 1, but during mid-2010s, it suddenly went down, and any mods exclusive to GTRCars/DrivingPassion are taken with the website itself (VictorSE/Porsche4ever's mods were reuploaded by the mod creator himself on his site after DrivingPassion's closure (yes, DP was a home of P4e's mods before P4e made his own blogspot site))
Also known as YochiThMaster333 in other places.

I'm not allowing anyone edit my works without my permission. I'm not allowing anyone to convert them to replace vanilla cars either if they were addon mods in first place.

Exclusivity is what's killing this hobby, Unless the site owners can guarantee they'll keep their site open forever I believe in share and share alike, the more sites something is on the less likely it is to become lost to time.

[/quote]AYYYOOO THROW ME THAT LINK!!!! I might find what I need! Man I am so back in modding,if possible I'll be begging for permissions to let me use  what they had made/used like 20 or 10 years ago if they let me,turn that/those into modpacks or make my own cars and stuffs...it's been so long,I can't go back to that dark place again...games and modding, these kept me alive then, keep me alive and will keep me alive back again...after 7-ish long years I am so back,I can't go back...I want to be happy again man...even if I don't mod stuffs myself,I wanna download and play them for my personal flavors...I miss my old me and I want to be revived and redeemed again...

Yes, That is how to view everything, Cause it's so big though it loads VERY slow showing it all, Would be ideal if someone downloads it then breaks it down game by game and then rezips it that way, Looking at it under Show Contents we see the first half is almost all YouTube vids and site format stuff. It's possible they managed to grab those pics on the forums that disappeared too I'd guess.

Just to save a bit of hassle in case someone is trying to get all the info in one place about the nfscars backup:

1. Browse nfscars.net using the Wayback Machine (some pages just won't load so try alternative "times" WM offers)
2. When you find the mod you're searching for, open the mod page and scroll down until you find the file name
3. Open the nfscars backup, keep in mind it was made in 2021 ( https://archive.org/details/nfscars.net.2021)
4. Click to show all files and on the first folder in the list click on "view contents"
5. Use "find in page" to search for the file name, then download :)

Hopefully this helps, I've managed to find and download dozens of car mods that were nowhere to be found except on nfscars :)
