Description

Ever wanted to experience the uncertainty of knowing whether a cop is nearby or not? Tired of the NFS built-in cop radar spoiling the suspense? If yes, this is the mod for you!

What this mod does: Disables the cop radar in HP mode so that players will not know when cops are nearby. Obviously, this only works when you are playing as a racer.

Reason for creation: In NFSHS, as a racer in HP mode, it is possible to hide the map (press TAB key several times) and it is possible to disable cop chatter (press F10 key). However, there is no option to hide/mute the cop radar itself. You will still see the red lights illuminate and hear the beeps.  :(


This mod does this for you. :)


INSTALL:

1. Please make a backup of your siren.bnk file found in Data/Audio/SFX folder.

2. Please make a backup of your hud98.qfs file found in Data/Gameart folder.

3. Copy Siren.bnk from this mod to the Data/Audio/SFX folder.

4. Copy hud98.qfs from this mod to the Data/Gameart folder.

5. You're good to go! Don't forget to hide your map and disable the cop chatter to get the full intended experience.  ;)

    Is anyone encountering problems when trying to download this?  I just tried a test download, and it doesn't work. The link takes me to an empty page. :hmm:
