  I heard production of the Z8 is gonna stop this year. Somehow I don't really think the car was a success for BMW.

  maybe it really didnt be success model cos it was too expensive. only one thing is expensive in bimmers, the mark/brand. same thing in mercedes.

  not gonna start a big discussion there, but I think bimmers are worth the price they ask for. The driving fun you can have and the reliability are somewhat different from other cars. The quality of the hole thing is also. Though I agree you pay a little for the logo on the hood. That's something to accept if you like BMW's and want one. Else you shouldn't care. They're still the only ones who can get an engine to rev 19000rpm.....

  You ALWAYS pay for the brand! Away from the manufacting costs you give at least 30% for the brand. Have you ever thought about the real material worth of a car? it's only a few thousand bucks..things to think about..

  I said nineteen thousand rpm!!!
  This is a physical limit which is hard to reach, and guess what did that? Not a tuned BMW, an F1 V10 on the Monza circuit driven by Juan Pablo Montoya!!
  Nevermind, no Spoon at 19 000rpm. Don't try me on this one without lots of proofs.
  
  Still about overpriced stuff, look at Mercedes and Lexus before BMW on that one. You always pay for the name. Look at Nike.

  the Z8 was never to be made as popular as the Z3, or a 318i.
  
  This was a specialty car, and it was in no way meant to be made for mass production, like a honda civic.
  
  They went in only making a certain number of these cars...and every one of them have sold. That's what I hear, I say ;)
  
  Nick, last I heard, Williams F1 hit 15000 RPM, but that was a few months ago.
