Super BR: An Addon For NFSC Battle Royale
Description
This mod changes Battle Royale from feeling a little less like a Carbon+ and more like a Most Wanted in terms of handling. Personally, I always longed for NFS Carbon having similar fast-paced gameplay to Most Wanted, and thus I started this little project a few months ago to satisfy that itch in my brain.
Now this may sound familiar to some, but what sets Super BR different from other MW physics ports is that it is integrated into the Career mode. Every purchasable car in the Lot has re-tuned Most Wanted-like vehicle dynamics both in upgraded AND stock form, so you shouldn't get a drastic "Carbon to MW" physics change as you continuously upgrade your ride. And since performance upgrades are universal, you won't unlock a pro or racing package super early in the game.
Originally I planned to use Vanilla Carbon as the base but as I figured out through testing, the Career finishes far more rapidly than the blur it already was, hence I thought Battle Royale would be far more suitable for this.
Below is a list of all the changes this addon brings:
1. Road grip is increased by 30% (Carbon inherently has less grip than MW).
2. Custom performance and tons of MW performance ports to all cars in the Car Lot (Muscles can finally turn and yes, the Golf is better once again and also yes, the Silvia isn't slow anymore).
3. Similar to the Ultimate mod, every car has been retuned to be, ableit roughly, competitive till endgame but with a little twist. Lower tier cars cost more to max out than higher tiers.
4. Performance upgrades are universal across all tiers and are no longer locked by events, but by territories scattered across the map (would love feedback on this).
5. Replaced two starter vehicles with the 300c and Mazdaspeed3.
6. Implemented shift-patterns from MW and improved the sounds for some cars.
7. Brought back "Top Speed" "Acceleration" and "Handling" labels for the performance bars (I thought "Torque Boosting" and "Stability" were a bit strange).
Installation:
Ensure that you have a CLEAN version of Battle Royale installed, preferably on HARD difficulty (I haven't tested the mod at lower difficulty presets yet, but if it doesnt crash on EASY or MEDIUM then go for it!). Then simply copy over the folders GLOBAL, LANGUAGES, and SOUND to your directory of NFS Carbon and you're good to go.
Likely your old save file won't work unfortunately, so you'll need to create a new one.
Current issues:
1. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of a new CBR patch being released in late 2025/early 2026 (I think?) until I was very close to finishing, so the fixes for Fairfax Boulevard and Preseli View won't be present even if you had that specific patch installed (I tried to modify the finish line for Fairfax, and sometimes if you scrub the barrier before you finish, it can work).
2. Even though I mentioned for the base CBR difficulty to be on HARD, the AI difficulty seems to fall off significantly as you move towards racing Tier 3 cars. I would love help on this!
3. Even though every car is rebalanced to be competitive till the end, you will have vehicles that inherently corner better, accelerate faster, or have more top speed. I'll admit that as a single person spending hours on adjusting VLT values, my approach to balancing these vehicles may be a bit flawed and perhaps you'll see balancing improvements in future revisions through community feedback and further testing.
4. Due to the increased overall grip, drifting in drift events may be a bit harder but I tried to adjust the drift physics to mitigate this problem.
5. Some Challenge Series events may be bugged due to car physics changes.
