Like you to meet the Dacia 1300 by Sammjigga/Radu-Christian.

Gave it transparant windows, more realistic tyres and lisenceplates.

Worked on the normals, and gave it a sort of interior.

I couldn't calculate normals in fcefinish, it corrupted the car.fce and in Zmod I got an error when trying to save.

Turned out that the very highpoly windowframes caused the problem, so I tried to delete them in CarCad.

I could work on the normals after that, but I lost esential polies around the frontwindow frame.

So the car is unfinished but probably more attractive than the original.

PM me if you want it.

I've looked up and down and cannot find these (both NFSHS):
Porsche 911 Turbo (930) by Benny, converted from NFS:PU (I only found a crappy pursuit version)
VW Golf IV by funkyalex

For the Detroit Muscle mod, there was also a beta release of a track called "Motor City" or somesuch, in ca. 2000/2001. I'm not sure about the author. It's an inner-city track. It don't think it was in the Detroit Muscle beta release?

I have Benny's 911, it has 2261 polies, and it was the base for 2 pursuits (usa & polizei).

Looking forward to Motor CIty.

I was sent the 911 Turbo. Would prefer if you let me upload it, as it's my own release. Still, thanks for archiving!

Thank you, noise.

Thanks for uploading! I've never seen that one before and it's not the one I remembered. Funny that it exists anyway.

The track I have in mind was made before MCO beta, and features custom self-made textures. It could have been called "Detroit" just as well. Likely posted in the nfscheats forums at the time.

I'd like it, I can make the Romanian Militia

I'd like it. I can make the Romanian Militia car for the ColdWar mod and saves time since you gave it insides now.  =D
NFS HighStakes is the best

Could that be the one that I posted in this thread a few years ago? https://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1896.msg34942#msg34942

This was probably one of the first tracks trying to look like a dark, industrial city (that wasn't Empire) and, as I said in that other topic, I sadly don't have that track anymore, in fact, I don't even remember the name (could be it was too early to have a final name). It was a retexture of Altantica with a lot of added scenery, but little change in the layout. Past the hairpin area you see in the screens, the track was still unfinished, as in: there was only road, but no scenery at all. It was a very early beta, only shared through the Editing subforum of NFSCheats, and I lost it because it was in a separate folder on my desktop that I forgot to backup when I got a new pc in early 2002.  :( So the screens are all I have.

The modding community back then.. It was so huge! Just imagine the old track editing editors they had to use because it was the newest shit.. Now we have JimD developing it further and further..

I just found a very interesting site
https://ds-servers.com/gf/need-for-speed-high-stakes/
Contains a bunch of older models dating back to early 2000s.
To my surprise, it has a number of upgradeable cars, even an xjr15 in career mode. The author is Nate Patrin. I dloaded a Buick Wildcat from there and it looks pretty decent.
I said hello, tough guy.

Wow, I think that's it. Thanks! Your descirption pretty much fits what I remember of it - a promising editing arena exclusive beta that went discontinued. Who was it by, though? RyanT? Pretty sure it was one of the forum regulars, but then again my memory has been less reliable after 22 years than I'd like to admit.

Remko

I'm glad I was able to bring back some memories from NFSCHeats' Editing Arena anno early 2000s.  :)  Pity trying to read this board via the Wayback Machine gets so difficult with all the hosting and URL changes in those days. May I ask what your nickname on NFSCHeats was back in the day?

The track editor is not RYan T, although he was one of the initiators of the DM mod (We still have several of his releases here at NFSAddons, if you're interested) but Evil_Stallion - like you said, an NFSCheats regular, and someone I've seen rarely outside of that place - never saw his name in any other NFS sites that I remember. I'm also not sure if he ever created anything else besides those two track betas. He did have a homepage, but I can't seem to make it work in the Wayback Machine.

Found This Ferrari 512TR on NFSCARS.NET.

Flying Toaster started to ''clean up'' Egelkraut's Testa Rossa but left us with a beta version.

I worked on it a bit and ended up with this.

-corrected some bugs
-added badges and some bodylines
-put profile on tyres
-made a vidwall

Hope you like it.

Tell me if you want it and I PM you a dropboxlink.

Found this Escort in my collection, it's not lost but kinda unfinished.

I improved it on several places. If you want it, PM please and I give you the dropboxlink.

The readme.txt give more details.

Hope you like the rims, I don't (had no energy to replace them)

The vidwall is by me also b.t.w.
