Does anyone have NFS1-NFS2SE track for NFS3.

I'm looking for people who actually kept the NFS1 to NFS2SE files for NFS3. There are only at least 2 NFSSE tracks available for NFS3 right now which is Mystic Peaks and Pacific Spirit right now on the website after nd4spdworld has been taken down which had Las Vegas, Monolithic Studios, and other tracks. I know there is NFS1-NFS2SE tracks available for the expansion packs for NFSHS and I know that T3ED quite had some tips on certain information about NFS2 track variables and NFS3 track variable.

Yes! I finally found the site. This is the first one that came to mind when I saw this thread, though I'm not sure it will be as much help as you might be looking for. Okay, Dennis Auroux created these authoring/converting tools, as far as I know. And his new NFS site is here, and states "Most of these tools are now obsolete, with two exceptions." Which is too bad, because I'd like to see his "obsolete" tools in case he has them. Even so, on the new site he has T3ED and FSHtool. I'm guessing you are after the obsolete stuff. So:

Here's his old NFS site, which is apparently still online. Here, he also hosts the T3ED and FSHtool but there is also a lot more including track editors for NFS1 / converters Track1to2 / etc.

So now you can find NFS1 and NFS2SE (even edited versions of) tracks. But for NFS2. So, now you need, essentially, a "TRACK2TO3" program. And I have NO clue where that is. But I'll look, and post back

but still not conversion :(

Maybe we should ask IPLounge forums, on iplounge.net, how they converted the NFSII SE tracks into NFS4 format. Or how to convert NFS4 tracks into NFS3 format - TRACK4TO3, conceptually, should be easy. Problmed is there are probably some track-added features in NFS4 and AI lines, etc, that could mess up a straight-out drag-and-drop from NFS4 to NFS3. Even so, I'm sure that's much more possible.

I guess you could just download the NFS HS Expansion Pack, install it, extract the tracks, and convert them into NFS3 (for your own personal use). I'm sure other people in the NFS community who still play NFS3 would like to have them too, but we'd have to gather permission from the authors of the HS Expansion Pack, or the original converters.

I might still have a few on my pc from NFSes pre NFS3.  I know I had Outback and Pcific Spirit, but am unsire if I still have them, I'll look tonight.  I got them from NFS-GB, which was good for NFS Tracks.  A good original one was City2se, which was based on NYC....but from what I can tell the site is gone.  Anyone know any different?

At the moment now, converting NFS4 track to NFS3 would be impossible since T3ED haven't provided the feature to straight up converting it. Also, keep in mind that the converters have no bearings into owning the material since they were not the original authors of the model. EA is the original author of the converted track.  However, I'd like to know where's the TRACK2to3. Keep me updated on the NFS4to3 thing and the track. Considering the amount of downloads of the NFS2 converted into NFS3 track I had uploaded at NFSCARS, there are plenty who still play NFS3.

Yes. The NFSGB was taken down. I'll keep my hope on those tracks. Pacific Spirit can be found either at NFSCARS site which I had found originally on nfsunlimited just like I found Mystic Peaks.

I looked around today and I may have located the former webmaster of NFSGB today...but I won't confirm this until I get a message back.  I also emailed the former webmaster of nd4spdworld, who seemed to host NFSGB to see if he can give me a hand with this as I'd like to get some of the tracks back myself.  I'd really like a NFS4 version of City2se...the track is simply awesome.

ExoticLover

I'm going to leave this message as a reminder for you to notify me about the tracks. I think they don't have ti anymore.

I heard that some guy called Vitalyn Kootin (I don't remember well the name) did a TNFSSE/NFS2SE to HS track converting program, but is nowhere to find now.

ExoticLover

Yes, Vitalin has originally created the method for NFS2 track to be converted into NFS3. I'd like to know who have it if there's anyone that have it. As for bucksavage, any respond to the e-mails?

JimDiabolo

Vitaly Kootin aka. Necromancer helped a lot in developing the T3ED. When you look at the "About T3ED" message you see he worked together with Nappe1 on the plus editions. Maybe he knows more.

*Bumps. I got in touch with another programmer who extracted the NFS1 game track to be recreated. Now I'm going to wait for the response to see if he will do the request of doing it for NFS3. We'll wait for the response. See if you people can get in touch with him.

The guys from IPLounge didn't convert the tracks themselves, they just found existing conversions and tweaked them to the point they were bug-free. As far as I remember, they've already tried looking for the tools to convert tracks from NFS1 and 2 to NFS4. If my memory serves me correctly, they were able to find the tool to convert from 2 to 4, but it was useless since they already had all the tracks from 2SE. The ones they needed were Burnt Sienna and Transtropolis from 1SE, however they could neither find nor convert them. It's not possible to convert from 1 to 4, only from 1 to 2 and then to 4, and for some reason they couldn't do that.

Wait a moment, in case you utilise the IPLounge versions of the tracks, you do need to ask for their permission! They worked very hard to iron out the bugs the original conversions had (most importantly the sticky guardrails and invisible walls around the tracks) and they deserve all the recognition they can get. Please don't do something as thoughtless as using their tracks without their permission.

@Exoticlover:  I heard back from Giles Bett, former webmaster of NFS-GB once on facebook, but he has not replied to the reply I sent him.  As for Texhnolinth...no reply whatsoever.  Anyone know if he goes by a different name now, or a different email account?

ExoticLover

The guy who did the NFS1 recreation has responded to me stating that he doesn't know what it takes to convert NFS2 to NFS3 although he managed to obtain NFS1 format and been able to create a program which reads the format. He does seem to be willing to help, but he needs info on NFS2 track formats and NFS3 track formats. He's directed to here.

hey guys

I'm searching for a converted version of the NFS2 Monolithic Studios (Hollywood) track for NFS III.
