Everytime I see concept cars come to life like this, it makes me smile so much. I hope 90's concept cars aren't too far off.

Anyway, beautiful Maserati which it should have gone to production, but it didn't. Atleast it's legacy hasn't been forgotten!

It must have been awesome to drive this car in real life, looking out of the door's lower window :D I especially like the butt on this 1. Thanks Butch for another great addition to nfs4's carpark

Really interesting concept car with cool 70s style. Modeled clean and crisp as usual. Polywise you hit the sweet spot with this one. Also stunning wheels, that keep spinning, despite 4-spoke-rim game limitation. Very nice!

Yeah, I got into the habit of saving with triangles by working with a nice little German team.

Why is saving triangles still a thing nowadays?

      Ask EvoX.

7000 triangles seems to be the consensus.

That sounds like the nGlide renderer limit but when your game is setup properly you can have a 20k poly car without a problem. The problem starts when having 4 or 5 of them on the grid (more than 100k polies)

Ofcourse the game would be completely unplayable like that with nGlide xD

But it's ok now, I put a patch and can play with your high poly cars on an old Win10 pc๐Ÿ‘

Giugaro worked for VW in those days. I heard this car had some design-features which were also on VW/Audi's. It took me a while to see it but I think the rear is rather simular to the Golf 1 with the wider taillights of 1980.

The wheels don't spin in my game b.t.w. But I hardly race prototypes/concepts.

You know that NFS 4 is not GTA 5. It doesn't have to be big with the polys. At some point it will be pointless for NFS 4. Think about how few the standard cars have. And what we are doing now. It wouldn't even work without the modern patch. It's just pointless if the cars are built too big. It's not designed for that at all. The art is to build cars that look better than in real life. And are still within the limit.

You are partly right if you ask me, but since we've got the modern patch and the abilities nowadays to setup the game properly with DirectX and DGVoodoo (if not running on Linux OS), we can have cars which have 10.000 polygons or even more without having the game to lag. It's all a matter of how we set up the game. Ofcourse the hardware has to be good and it would be senseless to have these cars running on a retro computer

I made myself two versions on two different PCs, but frankly speaking I still prefer a low poly one, with most cars below 6000, mostly RK's cars๐Ÿ‘

but Walter does a really good job with the 3D design. That's going well. In general, these are all top products
