HQ Police pack replacement
Additional Screenshots
Description
Higher quality model as EA replacement plus a few minor fixes.
Stats:
512x texture for high quality texture mod on VEG patch
256x texture can be used instead by renaming CARGAR.TGA
Under 3200 per-car polygon for compatibility with unpatched game (won't list them all. Trust me bro)
Performance has not been tweaked cos these are only following all the same shared AI curve for gameplay purposes.
Huge thanks to NFSF1McLaren and Schnoobler for feedback on the police liveries and various car refinements, some sources, etc etc.
This pack has been updated for the extended lights patch. The old version is included inside "Legacy" folder, will keep itself more coherent in the vanilla game.
Now full source is included for all cars:
- z3d file with materials set up for proper UV manipulation, and light dummy settings as well.
- Base (unliveried) texture as .TGA and .PDN format, the later layered for paintable and non-paintable areas.
- Livery also included as both .TGA and .PDN with the layers for the different stages of livery.

Yeah the Land Rover is done already, it's waiting for the rest of the traffic cars to get done and uploaded as a pack (currently working on the Mustang). I see you've done your own traffic Discovery using the template, it got me a hard time thinking wtf I didn't upload that yet. xD
For the rest, they can be definetly done, but albeit there are slots for extra traffic cars, the game is not programmed to use them at all. It requires third party tools like Cheat Engine, ghost edits or another tool.
Yeah, saw that Mustang little... Announcement. It's hard to NOT notice it in additional screens for CheatEngine DL :D
For the others, yes. Tooks templates and some time to get myself non-police versions, even going as far as collecting some colors data from paintref, yet hadn't worked on handling files yet.
Notice that the traffic cars (as in, traffic serial number) won't read anything else from the colour data other than the secondary colour of the first entry. Anything else that you fill in will be completely ignored, so I'd say to not waste your time -unless you're planning to do full versions of them.
The reason why I'm doing alpha on the traffic cars is because it keeps the OG car's colour when you do a GO race, most likely an unplanned side effect of the internal hack that the whole GOxx cheats are. BUT, fun part comes now, if you were to have all the traffic with racer cars, and then do a GOxx race, that would mean that the traffic cars will also retain their original racer's colours, therefore allowing the fully coloured traffic just like NFS2. The only con is that this would only work for GOxx races.
