Fixing the 2023 Pagani Utopia (Add-on)
I'm trying to fix the Utopia mod, basically.
I made a list of issues that I found in the car, and I separeted them in 3 categories: the 3D Model, the Scripts and Installation, and the Gameplay.
Current Issues Found:
3D Model:
-I tried to make an second bodykit (an entire carbon body that I found somewhere (the car looked pretty nice)), but to make it the entire car needed to be in the kit00_body_a, then I reduced a lot of polygons. It doens't work so well, then I gave up, but forgot to use the model with the body parts clearly separated ¯\_(シ)_/¯
-How I was learning about what worth and what don't worth to mantain in the geometry, I didn't delete the engine and suspension details (it can be noticed when the car body is invisible);
-The car has the Horacio Pagani's name in the body (near the rear wheels), but it is just a transparent texture, but it isn't transparent in the game, then looks like a black sticker with Horacio Pagani written on it;
-I didn't know that we can change the driver model (I just setted it to the seat, but didn't change the model), (you can notice that some fingers are clipping through the steering wheel);
-The grill textures are a little bit broken (the uv map is wrong, or it broke when exported to the game, then it's just 4 big gray squares);
The Script and Installation:
-The binary endscript has some wrong lines, like... ALL THE ADD-STRING LINES (I reused the script that I made for Mistral, but I forgot to change the binary entry, then the car is installed without a string, 'cause the line has basically 2 different car names, then can be appear a lot of errors when installed);
-The folder with secondary logo and manufacturer logo cannot be read, 'cause the path was wrong in the binary endscript (it was "..\_Logos", then the ".." was being read as a non-existent folder);
-In Vlt-Ed, I used the same frontend lines of the Mistral script, but I didn't notice that I didn't changed the manufacturer string (the script adds the Utopia in Bugatti field);
The Gameplay:
-The exhaust flame is above the exhaust, then the nitrous flame comes out of the air;
-Idk the real size of the car, but I think it is a little big in game and frontend menus;
-Idk why, but the car was "hitting" the road (but the car with max performance didn't hit the road any time);
-The car with default performance has a engine sound, but the max performance has another engine sound (????);
-The wheel is a bit small, or the car suspension is very high, it can be clearly noticed in races;
-I don't think that there's a big problem with the stats, but I found that the car with max performance reach at the top speed so easily that you "get stuck" in it until reach in some curve or obstacle, as if it has a lock to reach higher speeds.
Extra Issue:
-The secondary logo isn't in a good quality ('cause it was the very first logo that I made by myself), and now I know how to make HD logos ᕕ(⌐■_■)ᕗ ♪♬
So far, these are all the problems I've encountered with the mod.
The solution to the 3D model Issues is, basically, remake ALMOST the entire car (at least, I still have the model with the correct parts);
About the Binary Endscript Issues, it's just fix the wrong lines (tbh, I thint it's the easiest part, then I already fixed this);
And, about the gameplay, it'll take some time to fix everything;
About the Quality of Secondary Logo, I think it isn't the most important thing to fix for now (tbh, I don't think it's a real issue, but it's a bit "annoying" that the logo isn't HD), but it don't will take much time.
