The national past-time (for the United States anyway) returns for another great season! Will the Chicago Cubs finally break the 100 year old curse and win the World Series? Will Johan Santana be able to pitch the New York Mets to the top of the national league? Or will the Colorado Rockies prove their playoff appearance last year wasn't all luck.

I dunno; the Cubs seems to come short many a year don't they?

All I hope is that my Blue Jays kick some butt and make the playoffs this year.  GO JAYS!!!

Two Words: Yankees Win!!!!

I think they've finally got it this year: some new young talent along with some older experience... This is our year. But I don't really pay any attention to baseball until after the english Football season is over anyway.

Do you like Fernando Torres :D?. I never liked him when he was playing at Atlético de Madrid, but now, in Liverpool is another Torres, hehehe.

I don't know baseball rules :( Here in Spain, baseball is unknown.

You know we will!!!  :bigthumb:  With our rotation with Zambrano/Lilly/Hill at the top, and our new lineup, (Fukudome FTMFW) I think the weak NL Central should be an easy win for the Cubs, the only real threat being the Reds but that depends on if their pitching steps up

Fernando Torres is good, but I HATE his club. Go MANCHESTER UNITED!! Man U vs Liverpool this sunday at 9.30 am ET! C. Ronaldo is better than Torres anyway.

Come on guys, baseball>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>soccer

Let's keep the soccer out of this topic

Personally I wanna see my Blue Jays kick some a@@!!!!  But....that depends on them having a good season that is relatively good injury wise, meaning less than other years, and the pitching rotation has got to step up, other than Roy Halliday, he da man!

Personally I could see the Jays finishing no worse than 3rd in the AL East this year, Roy Halladay/AJ Burnett gives them 2 aces, and they have good depth after that

TS

The best division, IMO is the NL west, so many great times like the Dodgers, Padres, Rockies and my D-Backs. (Webb, Johnson and Owings ftw.)

Yeah, that is if Burnett can stay healthy; and also if BJ Ryan can return to the awesome closer he was 2 seasons ago after his injuries.  Also, they signed Shannon Stewart.  He played for them, what, 5 years ago.  Now they have like 4 or 5 decent outfielders.  How do you manage that?

Thanks for Reed Johnson!

So TS, how about those Cubs sweeping the D-Backs ;)  REVERSE THE CURSE!

CrownVic316

Oh man my Yankees are going down the toilet so far... Damn if we would stop hurting ourselves...!

bucksavage

Reed Johnson!  Yeah I know......Jays shoulda kept him.....but then theyd have too many outfielders....then again they could always try to convert someone to a different possition.....but who?  And now they are around the.500 mark (or a bit below)  and (GAH!!) Wells is out now with a busted wrist..DAMN!

CrownVic316

Haha nobody seems to be very happy with the AL east right now... Anyway how many outfielders do the Jays have now? :p I know the yanks have like 8 or something, but a couple of them are just utility players...
