Nfs4hs How big can it get 😅

Ok big Question here is in Nfs4 HS how big can the Qfs Texture file be?
I have that's About 8.5 megs as of now. An it seems to work fine in game.
So, I want fix this file better, it's like a Combo file 2X as big huh.

An so, what if it get like 10+ megs..will it work or crash the game out? 😞☺️ an like just not work or just be all white in game?  Cause I didn't want do the big task.. if it won't work(  I say I have like, 35 more textures to change, I don't like using 512 size anyways I think them R, to big?
So that's the post today!.

I have a New York track by nfsfan with a 10 and smth megs and it crashes both my PC and laptop, sheety. So I can only sigh lookin at Remkos shots on this track...

Bud Kirill try buy a Nividia Video card like the 800? Or 8000 it only cost like $65-80 bucks.
Then update it. 80,? Megs it's what I did 3+ yrs ago.
It seems to help the bigger Qfs files. An happy weekend even with bad news I was told today. Tmi', .. not here. Why can't you install one bud??? Cya

Guys at now I have PC:

Core 2 Duo 2,66 Ghz
4 GB Ram
Gainward GT630 2 GB
Windows XP SP3 :)

And all my tracks with Veg modernpatch working fine. Sometimes also I have crash game, but problem is (I think) too many high poly cars?

The problem is, I have Win11. Maybe come back to 7, or 10, had no issues with them.

The game shouldn't crash if you set the "OwnHeapLimit" to 512MB, apart from that, it's best to use DGVoodoo renderer with custom settings set everything to high, especially the VRAM, thus eliminating highpoly crashes

Hi Pete we're is this located at or the files name this, OwnHeapLimit" to 512MB
Is that some ini file what you use to do this, to open that file.

Well if you use the modern patch by VEG there's a nfs4.ini in the game installation folder where you can set the OwnHeapLimit, but you can just use the highpoly nfshsgame.exe i once posted in a topic in here if you're not into modern patch

Ok I haven't had any hmm, games crash's latley. So it can be caused by high poly cars then? What mostly, like with Full grid of racers? Being 8 cars. Yes I have had Veg's patch, so will this help in game graphics that nfs4.ini, being set on 512 what's that # stand for btw ) Texture Res? To except bigger car Car.tga files? Thanks to.

Sorry for not responding in about 4 months or so. Having set OwnHeapLimit to 512 will almost remove polygon rendering limits on the modern patch so i'd always just in case keep this at 512

I prefer the OpenGL renderers. "Neighborhood Drive" with full grid is only working with them on my PCs. And the framerate is best with it.

Would it do even better if you increase OwnHeapLimit past 512, say 700 or more,maybe 1000 🤣?

If you use DGVoodoo with custom settings, like VRAM set to 128MB, you can drive any highpoly car on any highpoly track, it's just not possible with nGlide. But DirectX renderers can handle stuff like that, same as OpenGL, but if you're on Windows 7 and you want to tab out of the game sometimes, DGVoodoo is the best solution for this, because nGlide can't handle highpoly stuff and it doesn't run as smooth as the other renderers
