How to get FCE 3D view to work in NFS Wizard in Windows 10

After some trial and error, with some helping of Process Hacker, I found out the way to get the 3D view in FCE files work correctly in Windows 10.

All you have to do is to put a d3dim.dll file from Windows 7 (file version is 6.1) or below into the NFSWizard folder to get it working. You can either Google said file or snatch it from my portable NFS Wizard (it's located in the App\NFS Wizard folder)

This is some useful information, thanks for investigating

Hmm, Hi... I always, seen the 3D wire, mesh always.. in the day. Or 2 months ago geez(

But, you have the Texture, with it. Automatically, loads now?  Really wished I could have tried,,, this much it! Sooner bud aj_l , did you just find this out then? Or no...
Hey, good job, So the Dll file, makes it work in nfs-wizard? In HB: automatically? With the Car00.tga that texture file, to show it?  Then is what I'm asking. Was a simple upgrade fix then, with that old Classic - program? ^phew

The problem some people were having (including myself) since a year or so, was that the 3D model in NFSWizard would become 'invisible' as soon as you applied the texture TGA to the wire mesh. Like a member said in Discord, it was probably caused by an update from Windows10, removing an old dll that was necessary for it to work.

I'm just replying here to thank AJ for searching and finding a solution. 8) So I went and googled the necessary d3dim.dll, installed it in the NFSWizard folder and I was very pleased to see it worked! I'm not a car editor, but I often used NFSWiz to have a quick look at a car.viv from my archive, without having to install the mod and starting up the full game, only to see what the car looked like. So again my thanks AJ, much appreciated.

Yes if course @ Remko 😁 yes I did that same thing to, to just check out the new Uploaded HS mod car an also to change the cars Lights intensity, colors, of paint to for interior maybe. Yes amazing just one Dll file did all that? Instead of any major operation huh.

The dll is still present in W10, but apparently it was updated in such a way it broke some old d3d applications
I see that's how he did that AJ. Hmm, nice 😸 😎 ur= 🐺 🦄

Just FYI, here is the d3dim.dll file that worked for me. Adding it here incase someone stumbles across this thread from Google

Cooya!

Thank You AJ_Lethal and thank You Mike! My NFSWizzard finally works flawlessly again with this d3dim.dll :)
