Nice... Someone is already creating isos of collection box for me, but you can check the other ones for me, if you look inside setup folder you can see which version is that (eng+spa is USA, others are European, Australian have added cars and japan is in jap)

plus you can send me those demos, i can include them too, thanks ;)

An interesting topic indeed.

Um, not wanna be a buzzkill here, but before we link game isos... what about the legal site?
I think not all of the games can be considered abandoneware? Especially because of the contained music...
So, be careful.

Keiiko, if you wanna upload the collection, think about putting the gathered isos at archive.org site.
They have a software section there.

For versions i have:

Physically:
- NFS2 PC GER BigBox Edition
- NFS3 PC GER BigBox Edition
- NFS4 PC JAP BigBox Edition (with the Skyline) - so yes, there is JAP PC version
- NFS4 PC AUS BigBox Edition (with HSV etc)
- NFS4 PC GER BigBox Edition
- NFS5 PC GER special "40 Jahre 911" edition (in metal case, with soundtrack)
- NFS5 PC GER BigBox Edition

ISO:
- NFS1 ENG Demo (zip file)
- NFS4 PC FR - Conduite en Etat de Liberté
- installer for NFS4 for Pocket PC (zip file) - thats an odd one^^
- other isos you already have

Just not sure about the differences, though. Especially for that Porsche special edition (i think its the same as regular game). Maybe german versions are identical to the EU versions also... got to find that out i guess.

Also, there definitely is an australian version of NFS3. But of course hard to come by, outside australia...

Anyways, good luck collecting all versions. Hopefully it will be possible to share it. You also plan to investigate differences?

Abandonware are still technically illegal. Also, I never knew NFSHS for pocket pc existed. It looks terrible.

First I collect it, then I release it.

For legal issues, first 5 (we could say 6?) games are indeed abadonware, i got most of isos from ROM colletion sites, noone really cares about these old games... unless they are repacks (for example gog) or rereleases (fixed to play on new systems)

Classic NFS series is mainly forgotten, a lot people does't even know you can play it today...

If anyone really cares... EA cares about new NFS games...  :-\

You cannot know if EA really doesnt care.
It is 100% clear, if you make an official request at EA for using and distributing these game-isos, it will be denied  :D
I think we would all agree on that!?

The term Abandonware matches for these games, agreed - but that doesnt mean you can freely distribute this software...

Maybe you're right and nobody cares - but its definitely wrong to say, uploading iso-images of these games is legal and lawful. It is definitely not! Whether in the US nor in the EU and Asia. Beware of that.
Keyword is "Berne convention", which is an agreement that applies, basically, in all countries on the world.

Not saying you should cancel everything, just be informed. Distribute only through archive.org (so they are hosting the files).

Greetings

Well yeah, you are right it is not entirely legal to distribute it, but then again, these games arent distributed anymore and almost everything is not working without fan made patchs on modern systems... the same is for console versions - you cant run them on consoles you can buy today... next EA doesnt provide any support anymore for these games and dont promote them... lastly oficial cds are already beyond its granted working contitions - they will start to rot (digitally) up to the point when they wont be readable. -> it is Abadonware

Like i sad, it is not on steam or gog and you can already download most of the isos already from the rom sites and abadonware/oldgame sites.

You can actually download hundreds of thousands software and games for free that is considered abadonware - which is pretty much everything upto 90's, and also for dos based windows sice those are not fully working on win7/8/10 anymore.

NFS 1-6 is now really old - 16 to 24 years, which is a lot in software years and thats why now im trying to collect it into one collection ;) (and im already familiar about legal stuff ;))

Blazn Motorsports

All older NFS games still require the Need For Speed Is Copyright By Electronic Arts wording.

Keiiko

Collected and wanted lists updated, also setupMP is ready for another release =D

and because EA ftp is down, does anyone willing to upload demos for nfs1-6? thanks ;)

MADMAN_nfs

Indeed, they removed the pub/ea/-folder from the FTP. So all hosted files (demos, patches, addons etc...) for the old NFS titles there are gone.
Argh... well, cant really blame EA at this point, its 20 years now since the release of these games.

@Keiiko: All the (english) demos of the old NFS games can still be grabbed at www.nfsstreetdogs.de
I think on some other fansites also demo files are available as well.

Keiiko

ok, so i downloaded all usable nfs files from archived ea ftp which means demos and patches there are collected.

next thing on my list is (still) unreleased CD albums of nfs 2, 3 and 4 which 9 years ago posted Rob on nfscheats which i found as MP3s, but i would love to have isos or flacs of those - so if anyone knows who might have those or get contact on Rob, that would be nice :)
