Silly question perhaps but .. do you mainly drive automatic or manual transmission ingame?

I had only found the 4-speed Ford 4R100 automatic transmission drivetrain data from Ford Excursion as said but I backcalculated gearspeed data now for the 6-speed ZF S6-650 manual transmission that were available for both the 7.3L Diesel F250 as well as the 6.8L Petrol engine (a little later though since 2002) ..

.. so question is, should I enter the manual and automatic transmission data seperately (so using correct seperate values each) or would you rather prefer both manual and automatic transmission using same values so the six-speed values would also be used for 'automatic transmission' then, just asking .. ::)

The six-speed manual has much better pullthrough .. I have tested these values for automatic transmission which was really impressive ingame ... :o

Well, my 5 cents here. As for me, I do prefer manual in every race in every car. From Carrera 2.7 RS to Corvette 283 - it's always manual for me. However, just like you pointed out, same car with different auto or manual trannies might behave quite different. And since it appears that with current amount of data you have and NFS4, I think it's better to add both variants. For both variety and wider usage of the same car and purism reasons  :)

.. of course why shouldn't we? ^-^

Yeah is much too much complicated physics and calculating stuff I shouldn't bother people with .. :-[
Sometimes feel like Eddy Murphy in that 'Nutty Professor' movie -LOL =D .. although I'm not that fat ... still yet ::)

I miss being on my bike alot like in warmer months, wouldn't be too detrimental to health and shape as well -LOL
But March is still too cold, windy and rainy here too ... doesn't feel much like spring yet right .. :-\

@Rider66: ok good to hear your opinion, I have attached a current Carp.txt zipped for the 6.8L V10 PETROL version with 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission .. I suggest using different sounds on that for the F250 (not the Diesel sounds from knockout truck) but perhaps from new Chally .. sounds pretty much profound and 'strong' with that .. ^-^

Btw pretty much the first car that really works fine with a simulated all wheel drive entry (40 by 60 front to rear percentage power balance) :o

Say why ur not using an internet USB stick from same provider like ur phone has for PC too if u cannot afford Cable DSL? As for me it were annoying to always use the phone on msgs? .. they're really cheap today aren't they? ???
Or at least a connecting cable for ur phone to PC so u can use it as a modem then?

What an amazing cognition ... told you that the 7.3L Diesel aggregate came with 6-speed manual trannie while the Petrol engine had 4-speed automatic transmission originally, Ford switched that later so the six-speed was also available for the Petrol engine while the four speed automatic was preferably then for the Diesel version ...

It's exactly what my performance reworks now made evident, the six-speed works much better on the Petrol engine while the automatic transmission has benefits on the larger Diesel .. :o

This is somewhat a terrifying experience to come to the same or a similar conclusion like Ford did back then what forced them therefore to switch the transmissions, only that I noticed that by that pretty old simulation game HS .. :P so don't you ever doubt that HS wouldn't also be able to encounter transmission problems ... =D

Hey Frank. I just tried both configurations today. Like I said, feels completely different... And so far with your settings, I'm much more happy with 6-speed manual, to be honest, and even get the idea why they swap it later  :D However, I still think that both trannies might appear in final release. So far there's still some original tracks where 4-speed auto might have advantages.

@Rider66: seems almost natural why they did it since the Diesel wouldn't turn that high (<3000rpm compared to the Petrol engine with a calculated redline of 4650rpm, that's more than 50% lower from that ..)

I think it had to do with some improvements on the 4R100 automatic trannie then as I could read about it, before that only the ZF-S6 could handle such high torques like the Diesel engine produces that ... :o

But I should come to an end with testing and upload the F250 package now before warranty is finally running out on it .. =D

I bet you most likely need a Fork Lift, with that Package..?  =D  8)

Yeah guess so .. ;)
.. it will contain then the F250 in both versions, Petrol version for Racer/traffic and the Diesel for traffic Snowplow and also a Racer Snowplow or do you think this is nonsense? ???
Consider giving the Racer F250 a nice bullbar still, what do you think? =D

Made some final reworks on the Camper/Motorhome so will be contained in package then too .. and of course the updated C10 with that 'secret' crate load ;)

WiLL

Why would I think, Our Hobby, Arts.we play with,an Try learn more on, is Nonsense..?  ??? Yes,Bull bar sounds good, I just liked having the roll bar up with, all 4 them, lights but, I guess you won't have that Ver. At all ( but I just got learn car cad, more I guess.  I like to try explaining, more in my read me,text about things, I come across,on my Track project.. an it makes, me think people around, here may think it's Nonsense?   :o but I never, get any real answers, most times, about, T3ed, just because, I don't know the real names,of what I'm talking about. Like the BLue" Colored, land Mass's, on Coastal track, those are not passable, at all, so what are them, polys called?  I should tried to Convert them, but I didn't, try was to late,in there.. so I had make it new, best I could, to be able drive in the Beach. I made witch is nice Btw.
An, yes looking Towards, your Crate pal.  :)  8)

uhm .. about the bullbar still sry ... this is the closest and most common or popular stuff I could find about the F250 using a bullbar .. 1st pic shows a smaller Chrome one that is often used as it seems and it would make also use of the existing protection plate below the front end, second is seemingly a full protection bar covering grille as well as headlights, this one comes very close to one I already have coming with Nils' '98 Chevy Blazer so only needs to be adapted, which would you prefer -if at all-? :o

There's still another less polycostly one from Nils' Durango .. (2nd pic)

Or, as a third option, this one from '06SC' Police Charger but is definetely a Police pushbar but if I would rework that a bit? ... (3rd pic) .. I still have some more options from many other cars as said but these are -as for my taste- the most matching ones .. ???

Last pic: just another impression ... ;)

Added that smaller chrome bullbar to the Racer F250 today, wasn't a sample of that to find so I made one myself without further ado, hope you like it like that .. far from perfect but recognizable somehow? .. has 108 polies (the bar only) ::)

.. added also foglights to it from Snowplow version as a little 'compensation' for the missing rollcage beams .. ;)

Add.: these 6-sided foglights looked a bit crappy compared to the bullbar, so I made some better 12-sided lights now and meshload is only increased by 10kB due to that .. :D

Current polyload (Racer version): 2785 polies, carmesh .fce load: 461kB

WiLL

I'm not sure why, I like Ford's, look so much in this 250 but it has this Cool Tuff,Distinct, look about it? Bigger wheels helps to it has!) Great job, n the Bar Fog lights, yup... I'm not awake yet I still think it's low poly rite, for a Big nice truck like this one. Like them colors to way better than just Mr.plow good day mate.  ^-^  8)
What else are you thinking on doing with it if you can.

No not going add too much stuff need to finally pack it betimes for an upload now ... LOL

The bullbar couldn't be done with much less polies because of that complex double-S shape but it is only made of 4-sided tubes (rhombuses) .. you don't see that too much do you? Bit of subtle texturing and normalizing too ... =D

I fused the whole bullbar together with the protection plate and the foglights as :OS part so everyone can use it then later for one's projects even if he only uses CarCad ... ;)

Bullbar + protection plate + foglights (:OS part) is 212 polies summed up ...

Some more pics of Westin 3" retrofitting bullbar ... there's many variants out there .. straight, tilted, narrow, wide .. :o
