about NEW Chally (Concept) again ...

Before I start or continue making the '06 Chally Concept also a Pursuit car I wanted to ask if this lightbar was ok for you folks ..

It uses an LED one from NJ's '06 Pursuit Charger (06SC) .. it's a Pursuit version of his 2006 Charger (06RT) that's never been published I guess ..

pro is it is segmented so it only uses very small texture areas contra is has bit more polycount than a 'plain' one but that no matters anymore nowadays ...

You may notice a different rim texture on the Chally too .. I had a look again at Zalcus' original texture and found it only had to be blurred a little to make it look better
Being at it I also made the brake discs' texture new ones is better one from Nils' '06 Charger too

That should then be the last new 'single' car project before I continue with another more series of cars like AJ's '90's Camaro or finally the '75/'76 Fury base car for the 'Bandit run' copcars or Sheriff Rosco's car from 'Dukes of Hazzard'

I have attached the revised mesh and texture for the Chally here but will also come with the Pursuit Chally then in zipfile so each one can update his Concept Chally

Btw the revised mesh file also eliminates the 'sunk in ground' issue in car menu for those who might have complained about that

another advantage of seperate polies instead of a large single one for texture: you can brake up spline's vertices and rearrange normals individually on each clustered field

see here I've tuned the normals on every single LED field seperately watch the reflections ...

I've added an alpha channel modded transparent :OL part overlaying the red/blue siren LEDs when car is 'in service' .. this is visible outcome on 2nd pic .. this will also be visible when car is AI car since :OL part is also active on sirens usage ..

this is being some hell tricky stuff -I know- but why not use it then if looking the better ingame?

Next step is then first choosing a matching door decal ... what would you prefer, a neutral 'Police' decal (middle), a 'Sheriff' one (on the left) or 'Hometown Police' (on the right)? You decide folks! .. either way is ok and possible just waitin' for ur replies then ..

.. and don't hold back on any other different suggestions plz this is being Concept car so almost everything is possible ..

Edit: How about a new fantasy customized 'NFS ADDONS PD' scheme here folks .. any suggestions/ideas on that?

Hi Bud, Frank what a Beast Cop Car... will be  um,I thought you kinda, told me you, um, didn't like that Thin lightBar? That was the one the,was mentioned week's,ago.

Slpines'- haven't heard that word,in long time  seemed like what I did on the big' U' turn, at the' S' turn,sure glad, that's over that part!!     . I'm trying to think about parts you want use try give me another hour okay

'Spline's vertices' that's an expression used in ZModeler just adopted that sounds strange I know -LOL

Yeah will become truly a beastie copcar when finished .. So haven't heard any suggestions about what the door decal should be like huh? no ideas folks? any of the suggested ones there ok? How about the 'Sheriff' one? or 'Hometown Police'? C'moooon?

Interesting. I know that Nils made the Mustang with different lights, but never saw this lightbar on his Charger, just the Raydian. Still, it would be better to leave the SHERIFF marking exclusive for his cars, so Hometown Police would be fine enough.

Hi Dark one good to hear from you and to have at least one suggestion here .. well, I'm relatively certain you mean the Pursuit Mustang '05 (P05M) .. that was the other lightbar I was talking about .. it uses a greater texture area because of the continuous faces (polies) ..

I think it would be ok if I used the 'Sheriff' lettering for the Chally (in case you liked that) since we were being team and we also exchanged the '06 Mustang files

But you're right, I would also prefer 'Hometown Police Dpt' for some reasons since is simply cool ..

The real existing Police Challenger is a 'Broward County Sheriff' one but that's a later series Chally





When suggesting the 'Sheriff' decal I was thinking of this one as a prototype (is actually Concept Chally)

Man my Isp-'' is much slower today,.Bud them first 2- pics sure are Smoking Hot with them light bar setups, an all. Were is this at in Florida or Caly? How fast could they chase you down 150mph man that be wild.. say least scary too   yes Sheriff looks great to, but I like the lights setup more on the two pics. Probably can't do that with the games deal. Anyway Ttul Frank behave an I still haven't heard back from Remko, yet on the mail I chatted him about. Be another week before I really think it be done...?))

Either way don't expect too much of the lighting setup on the Chally is only six dummies I have left for that so only lightbar will be so no additional flasher, internal bars 'n stuff ...

Folks here's news concerning Chally Concept/Pursuit Chally ...

I found many glitches in the mesh structure since model is medium LOD taken from greater one so my job today was correcting that still ... since I was at it I put a little 'gimmick' on it again .. for those who either have the original version or one of my test versions you might know that the black bonnet vinyl sticker effect is done by secondary body colour which also means that it remains 'glossy' what is incorrect since the vinyl is rather mat.

What I did was copying the concerning parts of the bonnet while I scaled the plain 'glossy' bonnet verts by 99X101 percent to center means a dash smaller than the 100%, same trick but just vice-versa to the undercover '83 Ford LT CV's 'doubled' roof ..
This addtional 'mat' bonnet I remapped to stripes like to be found on real pictures showing those 'micro stripes', you can now choose either 'top up' = micro-striped mat vinyl bonnet or 'top down' = plain glossy metal bonnet ...

So now you can choose each and every colour no matter which with either the mat micro-striped vinyl 'top up' or 'top down' with plain metal colour ..

the resulting in-game effect may not be as you may expect it, but it makes a nice 'iridescent' impression

..btw what's more common expression to you folks, 'bonnet' or 'hood'? just wondering ..
