I would reluctantly resize the taillight texture because of the nice rippled structure they're showing looks more realistic than w/o like on Addict's '92 Camaro where they are shaded but yet overall plain

Resizing texture areas always means losing graphic information and sharpness as well ..
Those large taillights on the Camaro do a lot on the car's recognition so I will try what you said with interior and other areas

Sharpening after resizing could mitigate detail loss.
