Hello fellow NFS fans.  I have been searching all over for the latest version of Totalpatch. This enables you to change the opponent names in nfshs (ie Bogey, Sleepy, Wild 1, etc.). There was a link I found somewhere that provided the patch, but it is dead link now.

Basically, if anyone has it, can they upload it here to nfsaddons? I think it's called totalpatch 4? Thanks. :)

It's called nfsstrings, maybe it is part of that totalpatch you mention. It can indeed change a lot of text, but the changes get lost after a while.

The latest version of TotalPatch by R.F. Bisschop that I have found, is v. 3.5 (came out March/April 2003), Too big to attach here, so here's a link (I should probably upload it officially in the NFS4 Tool section here)

After installing, the Renamer is installed as a separate program, it's not included in TP 3.5 itself (it's listed separately in your Programs List ;) )

I tried using the Renamer though, and it said: 'Not Enough Names found', not sure what that means (not sure where the name files are stored, the nfshs.exe file maybe?)  :-\ Just make sure you set the correct NFS4 folder in TP 3.5 first, so it can find your game files.

Remko you did it again!  ^-^ :)

This is the program I'm looking for. I first heard about it from FerrariMan's website. Here's the quote:

â€"TotalPatch 3.0 â€" 777KB â€" helps you unlock the cheats and stuff. Very useful, but was very hard to find… Google it and you won’t get much other than this page😛. You can download a more updated version at http://totalpatch.go.to/ , and this version allows you to change the names for the AI Opponent Players.

The website, totalpatch.go.to is down however.

I assumed that the latest version would be called TotalPatch 4.0 and not 3.5. My mistake.

THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS! AND MAY NFS LIVE ON! (The classic nfs of course)  ;)

I have nfsstrings as well. It is a very useful program to edit the entries in NFSHS but it can't edit the opponent names because they are hardcoded to the NFSHSGAME executable. The only other way to change the names is to use a hex editing program (I use hexden) but you have to keep the number of letters the same or the executable will break.

Now memories come back to me.I confused it with nfsstrings.Good luck.
