Hey guys I am new to this forum but not new to the NFS world.  I used to post a few years ago over at NFSCars.  I am a huge fan of High Stakes it's my favorite NFS game ever and something like this would me amazing specially with all the beautiful high poly models that have been made over the years.  It's funny I was thinking about HS a few weeks ago and wanted to see if there was any progress on the poly limit and came across this thread.

I would love to donate to this cause as well I know right now he says he's busy but if he actually follows up and says he will work on it and our donations aren't going to waste that would be awesome.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, I haven't been able to keep up with NFSA as much as I'd like. I know voting is closed, but I'll throw $130 at this if it gets going, to give it a nice even $600 total

Just an idea but do you guys have any kind of social media?  I run the facebook group for another old video game Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2 and it's been really effective at bringing back old players and setting up tournaments etc.  Perhaps that could be a way of spreading the word too.

I do have a Facebook page for NFSAddons, but I admit I don't do much with it. I'll have to look into making it better/utilizing it more

I know the poll is closed but I can donate 30$ to get this patch released.

I know this is not a radio request show, but I think a good thing to have would be a support for more gears. Like those transmissions in new Mercedes sometimes have even 9 and trucks have like 18. I didn't messed with it for longer time (I was working on Veyron with 7-gears many years ago). From what I remember NFSHS doesn't support more than 6 gears. The additional gears were shown on screen but something strange was going on when they were selected.
Anyway my offer stands regardless if this gets implemented or not!

I'd donate a small amount like $20. We're in the middle of a recession and our money is not worth much compared to USD but it would be incredible if this worked.

I wonder if he could crack the CTB and LTB files inside the viv which hold the data for how the sound samples mix.

Hello, guys. Sorry for my late reply.

I thought that all milestones will be unachievable, so I had switched to other projects. But now I'm free again, and I can postpone finding a new full-time job for a month or two. And it seems, that I was wrong about achieving the milestones

I appreciate that you are ready to help me to cover my current expenses for the time while I'm developing NFS4 version of the Modern Patch. I hope that you will like a new version of the patch which will be developed as the result.

I haven't touched NFS3/NFS4 almost for 2 months, so it will take some time to get into NFS3/NFS4 code again. I'll start tomorrow. So, the project is resumed.

I'll post details about "how to donate" a little bit later.

Thanks VEG! You're a boss, mate. I've just tried your patches, and it's like a dream come true.

This is a game that still gets modding support. I had abandoned it when I lost time to tinker with it and for my own personal reasons, but now there's no real need to leave it aside as it'll get preserved for posterity save for a major change in Windows or something.

IMO it's worth seeking this goal just for the support it still has, however small. 17 years later there are still mods being released for it. I'm surprised even this place is still going! And now we can enjoy the full backlog of this game's mods in full glory. You've changed the world for the better, I'd say.
