Free! so i can Continue doing my Track
on ever any free time? Wish i find more of that
but I'm finding sum as it Gets Colder out. yuck

to the End. there has to be an Easyier way?

Uninstall the pack and game first

Then do a FULL INSTALL of NFSHS first. After it's done, don't take the CD out of the CD drive and run the NFSHS Stock/Expansion pack setup.

Make sure you have this options ticked:
-4.50 patch
-NoCD+NoCollision
-1MB patch
-Vista/Win7 Tweaks
-NFSHS Starter
-Multicore Patch (just in case)

There's another solution (I personally don't use the SP).

I suppose you're starting the game via a shortcut (perhaps from your desktop)? If so, right click the link, and in the first line that you can edit (likely called 'target' in English Windows?), append " -patchrestart" to what it says in there (without the quotes but WITH the space before the dash.

For some reason, HS tries to update itself or thinks an update has failed under Win 7 and higher, adding this to the launch options will suppress the error and start the game.

You may now end up in the multiplayer lobby of the game, so just go back until you're in the main menu. If you don't care about the lobby, you can deactivate it and automatically start in the main menu. Here's how:

Go to the main folder of HS, the to Data, then to Menus. Rename "connect.mnu" and "RNetLog.mnu" to something else, perhaps "connect.mnu.bak" and "RNetLog.mnu.bak". The files will now not be found by the game's exe and it will fall back to the main menu.

Its to bad i have No Isp at home,to type better with.
I never had any luck much Editing,the property,
in the Games shortcut at all. i use that Compatibility,modr
i choose w 89/Me or winXp still no go. what about

HS launcher MUST run with admin rights, don't try any compatibility modes other than XP/7.

I was able to get this thing to work,after the error it gave me
d3drm.dll File is gone! Then i had mess with that put in
from other Folder it looks much better than what i used

Ugh... I'm back i Installed it all like AJ-L said Ran the Cds
Files JDs pac did,it said it was Successful. then
i checked i made shortcut when it was all done.
was allready,set on Win 7 Admin. etc I still get the
Same Error pop up Geez...

Check in your NFSHS shortcut properties if it links to nfshs.exe and not to nfshsgame.exe, like this:

Code Select Expand

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed\nfshs.exe"

Also, check if there's a nfshs.exe.manifest file in your HS folder

I'm just Bummed,Out... Buddy I've done all you mentioned,The Monitor
did this Big Flicker,like in 256 color mode,it wanted to start.
There sure is some Conflict going on??
I Feel its not ment to be,i put my days in? I have no
other clues to do. I'm tired now

It keeps giving the same error after that Flick s*ht.
So... all i did was back out game in that exe.
yes i have that Manfest.exe file.
Its just Not any Good... Feeling when Stuff don't
work... after all the Effort,we do!., an the Help..
I hate to say this... But my Life isn't any better too!

Um... which 'path' are you following now, exactly? It seems to me you might be mixing up AJ's and my advice? It's an either-or thing, I'd say.

So, did you install the Stock Pack? If so, follow what AJ said and ignore me

By the way, I do not use any compatibility modes and do not need any special rights, either (I think, lol, who needs UAC).
