Need for Speed Carbon keeps crashing on XP

Hey there, I have NFS Carbon Collectors Edition, bought from the game store since 2006, does the 1.4 patch work to fix the game crash issues on XP? I don't seem so sure about it. Since a long ago I installed Carbon on XP and it runs perfectly, and, while playing it longer on races like spending 1 hour, the game crashes, and every time it turns like this. I'm feeling a little stress after I install the patch on Carbon, it still crashes.

Either way, I wasn't ready to install Carbon yet if the patch DOES fix the game crash issues.
