Car Freak

I had to wake up at 4.30am (slept at 12 the previous night), departed school at 6.30, spent 5 hrs on the bus up, missed the start of the race because the silly bus driver missed the exit, got stuck in the jam leading to the circuit, sweated buckets, breathed in about 2 month's worth of carbon monoxide and CO2, had badly aching legs, had to put up with a noisy bunch of ppl in the bus, reached school at 12, and finally slept at 1am (and woke up for school at 6.30)...
Now, downsides aside, we can move on to the rest of the trip...

The bus ride up was almost unbearably long... And really boring too... Nothing much to say about that...
We stopped at some bee farm on the way up because it turned out we were a bit too fast, then we had lunch further up the highway. Then I found out the teacher accompanying us on the trip has modified his Impreza STi to about 340bhp, and plans to take it up to 400 (No exterior mods whatsoever)

After lunch we continued the journey, and the stupid bus driver missed the exit to the circuit (he didnt really miss, just took the wrong exit), which wasted 30-45 mins. Then we landed in the jam, which we were stuck in for more than an hour. Me and some of the guys decided to play car spotting while waiting... This is what we saw:

The smartass who started it all...

The highway is normally 3 lanes wide. In the jam, the shoulder was also used, so it became 4 lanes. Then this guy came along and used the grass next to the highway to cut the queue, which resulted in:

After quite some time, when we were abt 1km away from the track, we all made the decision to just get off the bus and get to the track on foot, thinking we would get there faster. About 10m off where we alighted, this came along, a TechART Cayenne Turbo with ~550bhp:

Who then proceeded to do this:

And had a HUGE parking space all to himself. I think you should be able to see for yourself how high the kerb was... Apparently the driver also decided to run for the track, as had this guy, who simply left his windows down:

Here are some pics of the F1 cars:

We saw these in the carpark:

Then we went home. Tried to sleep a bit on the bus, but the seat couldn't recline properly and some people were making a LOT of noise... And that was it really... came back, showered, then hit the sack

If i had the chance to do this again next year, I wouldn't. It's just too hot and too far away... Hopefully we'll go to the inaugural Singapore Gran Prix  :x:

(I'll be posting better pics of the F1 cars when I get them from my friends)

The XC90, CX7 and Cayenne was put to good use eh? :D And the beng Ferrari... And I love the Quattroporte. :p:D

Jaume08

Yeah! I would like to see some picture of Alonso...our Spanish championship. People in Spain used to say that we will die without seeing any Spanish guy winning the formula 1, and our national team winning the football (soccer) world cup...they were wrong. (about the formula 1....because our national football team never will win a cup...NEVER in a million years)

Btw, good pics...I have notice that there's always a Lamborghini Diablo in formula 1 races. All the times that I went to se the Catalonia (Barcelona) grand Prix I have seen 1 or 2 Diablos. And the Spoiler of that Ferrari just sucks!

ToyotaWish

Agree, agree... The chao-ah-beng spoiler... (translate that please jon :D:D:D)

lucky man you got to see all these. :bigthumb: I own Honda CIty which is 90% duplicate of that Honda Civic.

ToyotaWish

Isn't a CTR? Get an ITR. Heeheehee.

Car Freak

oh yeah, the guy who owns the Cayenne, is also the guy trying to bring TechART in to Malaysia... Says in his workshop his another customer Cayenne, with >600bhp! He's german by the way

ToyotaWish

:eek3::eek3::eek3: 600BHP?!?

*rushes off to Malaysia*

BTW the Malaysian JPJ (Traffic Police) doesn't give a damn how they mod their cars... A turbo on an originally NA car is fine. :D Some moron put a turbo in a Wish, getting close to 220BHP? Stock's 136BHP. :D:D:D

Car Freak

I know... my teacher told me there was once he was there, going at 200km/h, and a Wira came along and kept up with him... WTF??!!!

ToyotaWish

Ahh... Modded. :D Stock Wiras only can hit 180km/h. Malaysian Wira presumably? TC-ed with speed limiter removed. :D:D:D Potent. Dad sent TMJ's car in and had a Wira as an escort, and the thing couldn't keep up. :D:D:D

Robbie Hanson

I assume you had earplugs?  At the US Grand Prix last year, I couldn't hear for a few hours after the first practice sessions...I wore earplugs the other two days :P

Which turn at Sepang were you sitting at? It appears to be Turn 4.

Car Freak

dunno which turn... but it's quite soon after the start/finish straight

yea we wore earplugs, but was still quite loud...

Did you guys know Singapore is getting F1 next year?
