well... I just saw the topic "nfscars is full of assholes" ... it is unfortunately closed but i still have to say something about it....



Mike: Please dont ban me for my comments because i can't sleep now untill i have said something...plz done do it..hehe...you can delete the topic after one or two have read it.


so i was saying that when i read the topic, u can't imagine that how happy I was to read it... surely nfscars now deserve such words...but now actually nfscars but its administration.... have anybody thought why?

lets start it from begining...

I joined the nfscars in 2003. Things were very good then.. administration was good. you got response just after 3 hours you posted to admin. you got your cars uploaded within 24 hours. Many professional modelers/converters were there.... like Owl, J, Zpectre, Spirit F-Body Team etc etc but time passed and nfscars went on sucking more and more... Viper left ( i think because i have never seen him since 1 year)... Then Sinister left... Owl left, Spirit Left, and community sucked even more. no body even bothered to open a goddamn new post. Then bugs started on nfscars.. (an example is weekly upload table which is stilll out of order...may be it is corrected now but i havent checked it since im on nfsg. once I said that a customer and user is never loyal... he goes where he finds the best.

Then uploading-displaying took even the damn month...I want to abuse it with very very dirty words but i wont because i dont want to loose my repute here... i think i have some repute here..may be?? hehe well whatever... Then I posted to admins that why they are becoming so lazy.... and answer was "Empty Inbox" mean no PM from them back.

Then NFSG launched and I found admis very good to users and and rushed here...

I want to request admin here that please upload all my cars from nfscars to here using URL upload .... i want to see all here at one page at the single place.

well... I have said enough and now I can sleep with ease..hehe

I think NFSCars is getting better now, but honestly, I don't visit there too often.

One thing though.. "Then NFSG launched"... NFSG was actually launched July 4th, 1999. A full year before NFSCars I believe

I'll upload all your cars tonight. I know you've got a slow connection, or else I'd just say to do it yourself, heh.

its not called being lazy. Its called having a life to attend to.

Maybe you have all the time in the world to sit behind a pc and constantly be on a website. Some people don't they have other things they must do first.

NFSCars is a hobby not a job just like nfsg is a hobby for mike. You work on a hobby when you have the time to do so.

If I didn't care about nfscars or any thing else I do web related I wouldn't constantly shell out over $400 usd every month.

I still make my appearances at NFSCars, I'm just on a longleash, so I behave more, no more total noob bashing, but more of mecha's style of methodical owning, there's less of them, so I dont post as much..  but im amazed people actually took notice to my absence. makes me feel all warm inside (Oo)

nfscars has bugs, all sites/forums do.. and like mike(s) said these sites are hobbies NOT full time jobs, people dont sit around waiting for users to post questions, comments, or upload files.

Mike(s) have several moderators that can do most of the tasks, however they themselves have lives too, dont be surprised if it takes a week to see upload updates.. and im sure that whenever someone reads the PMs they respond when they can.. just because your inbox doesnt have the reply doesnt mean that your concern is being ignored.

most of those who left, have lives, have work, and dont have time anymore for NFS.  Some do make the occasional appearance, but that doesnt mean they're around full time.


and you cant hold just the staff responsible for forums sucking, its the users who aren't posting.

Back in 2003 I merely browsed the forums... Those were good times...

However, you cannot blame Mike for the apparent decadence of NFSCars. It's not his fault that the interest in NFS modding has been fading since EA took a new direction with the games. NFS4 had too many limitations, NFS5 was not editable at the time and NFS6 was just plain bad, therefore the modelers (around whom NFSCars' community has always revolved) started to leave the scene once they were introduced to better alternatives such as MBWR. In addition, the difficulty in adding custom-made cars to the newer installments of the series prevents the opposite movement (old-schoolers coming back) from occurring.

All the sites have been affected by the changes the community underwent in the past few years. NFSCars took the biggest hit because it is the largest of all the NFS sites, hence the degradation of the community being more noticeable there.

@Mike343: You are right buddy. Its a hobby, passion.. not the job... and I warmly appreciate your spending of money... but it so happens that you get bored of your job but you are always motivated by passion.. and this is passion that I am the most regular user of forums.. I dont join any forum just because it have a good number of users and updated everyday..  but because when I have any concern with it.... like we have an international forum from Pakistan and Pakistanis all over the world attend it.. but I dont... because they have no information to share.... they just come around, say hello hi, and go home. NfsCars is no doubt becoming larger and larger but what about the moderators. Just bashing the noobs is nothing.... I was also a noob once and i m afraid that you could also have bashed me..for nothing?? You can add mods who are active.. obviously being a mod is a job... and a big job... only that person needs to be mod who can be around any time... or at least one varied mod present any time... it is not the matter that if one has some work in outer world, then all are out...?

@Zpectre: Yes.. this is also an issue... MBWR is a good game but i didnt like it.... NFS is my concern... so theres no chance that i leave due to MBWR.. just because its better than NFS... NFS was and is my dream...

@Sinister: yes.. everything in computer life has got bugs.. either noticed or not... but when one bug is noticed, it should be debugged. many of the guys notified about that DL table... and someone said, just refresh it.. hehe wl... it didnt worked. Well I am still amazed that who approves the cars uploaded? only one person...or more? if there are more than i cant understand that y it is late approval?


Here I would like to give a suggestion.... one should make mods when a mod is resigned or leaves... or according to the situation, depending upon activity, behaviour etc etc ... so it will increase passion in users that they can also be mod etc etc

well if you look at the approved by for the cars for the last months you would see that I am the only one approving them. Actually I am the only one approving everything uploaded. cars, tools, tracks, images, showroom rides etc.

I think we should be proud of our admins at any site. They put in a lot of work into their website. Even when they have free time which could be used for something more useful, they decide to work on their site. Mike343, even though so many people left NFSCars, it's great that you are still there to keep it together. I must admit that I was quite disappointed with the several glitches and the late mass car uploading that happened before with NFSCars, but now it's great! Imagine NFS without the Mikes to keep our sites going! Good job admins!

thank's for your understandment, wesley. yes, we administrators and moderators put alot of free time into this, and mike does a hella lot to keep nfscars running.

...funny thing is: he recently started modelling, and everytime i ask him about if he did something on his mesh, he tells me hes coding, and has no time for modelling. wich means he is mainly working on something code wise on NFSCars.

ho ho ho.... I was the unofficially-appointed official basher of noobs at NFSCars back in the hey-day by Sander. surely you are openly aware of this, since you claim to have been a forum browser back in 2003. nonetheless, that is what I did, and although it became relatively extreme (to the point where I actually agreed with Sander deleting my account), it had its pay-offs later.

I am witnessing the echoes of "mecha ruined NFSCars" in various comments/posts as of recent. whatever happened to mecha being the hero that rid NFSCars of the likes of 2fast4ea, Mr. Jokinen, the entire rice movement, ALTER BRIDGE FAN? it's okay... I understand. just like Viper Jay 5 and Mike343, I was single-handedly responsible for destroying NFSCars. not like the median age dropping from 14 to 9 had anything to do with it, or EA's FAST & FURIOUS marketing, or the fact that the NFS series is all but dead.

regardless, I've been appointed to staff positions on both sites for a reason, would you not agree? I have been legitimately busy, so right now Mike343 and Mike Henderson are each taking care of all the business at NFSCars and NFSGarage, respectively.

fear not though. mecha is not finished yet. you will know when it's all over. I guarantee that my mark will never be forgotten.
