Now I know which car you mean .. is that the one coincidentally?

... that should be an easy one if you don't insist on also making that same damage ^-^
.. with Arnie as a driver .. not that hard since the default driver looks a bit like a Terminator anyway :police: =D

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_5701-Dodge-Monaco-1977.html

..and that is the famous chasing scene, right?

https://www.youtube.com/v/LR12SXRWfiA

btw didn't know that the '77 Eldorado had FWD (see 0:21) -LOL

When did LAPD switch from 'to care and protect' to nowadays 'to serve and protect' btw?

that's an impressive pic I must say though from another movie .. 8)

Do you folks NOW recognize the 'bulb' dummies I always do btw?

Is there a certain allusion with that movie plate btw? 999+001=1000 ('T1000') .. just wondernig ::)

FranknFurter

Btw  .. haven't seen any hints, further suggestions or objections with the new Aerodynic NYPD Fury folks .. so this is acceptable for an upload as it is now? ???

Dark One

Well, you can see that the Monaco with the "metropolitan police" written on the city seal, and "to care and to protect" motto on the doors, already clashes with the real LAPD patrol cars, not to mention NY style car number 1874. Real LAPD car of the time would be something like 85874 (and won't be Dodge Monaco in the first place) but if we are trying to replicate the iconic car from the movie, with all the flaws and inaccurateness, 1874 it is.

At least it's still better than the bizarro California from "Genisys", where they went full GTA, and CHP have eight pointed star, SFPD have their logo over some golden shield, and LAPD have a damn crest over a five pointed star.

FranknFurter

.. you decide folks .. I can update the existing LAPD Fury with a Cali Aerodynic what would be more authentic with real cars or adjust the '78 Monaco to that scheme to make it similar to the movie 'iconic' car .. I'm clueless concerning this :o

Cannot do more than offer to you what is possible .. ???

It is being the same also with other movie cars .. think of the '77 TA from Bandit movie .. in some far away takes it is a newer '79 backup and if you watch closely when showing interior he sometimes drives manual sometimes automatic gearshift .. what is also being considered as one of the best known movie car glitches in history btw -LOL

Dark One

The thing is, that I don't really know how far LAPD went with the Aerodynic. I am aware that Gran Fury had it, and Fairmont had it, because there are photos of these cars, but whenever I see Fury with Aerodynic, it's a movie prop, or replica. And most interesting LAPD car so far is the 1974 Dodge Coronet with Twinsonic, which is pure fantasy (LAPD did tested the Twinsonic in 1974, but on the Matador).

I'm not sure what is the best way around this. But the car from the movie is Dodge Monaco, so that would be the most important part. ;)

WiLL

... could it be that you cannot really decide dark one?

.. the 'T.J. Hooker' car appears to me as the halfway most authentic and properly looking ... haven't found many pics of 'Dodge Monaco '77 or '78 LAPD', most of them are fictional movie or TV show cars .. notice even the comletely wrong searchlights on the cars, LAPD cruisers didn't have them ..

found this one from 'blue thunder' movie with a wrong or modified decal but should as well depict an LAPD cruiser but is a Plymouth Fury ...

Real pics of '77 LAPD Furys always have that old 'tin can' lights setup which I already did and cars with an Aerodynic lightbar depict then the later Gran Fury or the St. Regis which I consider as ugly ..

.. np for me to make a fictional car but I then need some specifications of what the car should be like ..

I'll tell you what my problem is ... may sound nit picky but .. of all movie car replicas it was just the Terminator I 'Police Dodge Plymouth' whatever cruiser of that special scene that didn't fit onto my backyard lawn anymore .. or was it my intermediate lack of money lately -LOL ... so for that specific one I unfortunately have to use internet prototype pics ..

Almost everybody knows that for example the Bluesmobile was a '74 Monaco or the Bandit car was a '77 TA even if other cars where used for backup in the meantime .. but if I state the 'famous Terminator I chase scene Police car' as a '77 Dodge Monaco LAPD there might be certain folks that know for sure that this car 1.) didn't exist -what is ok- since it is fictional, 2.) was being a '77 Plymouth LAPD cruiser what is somewhat more probable or even 3.) was an 'old Ford' .. LOL .. see what I mean?

So to shorten this up folks just make a request like that: .. (plz.) do a fictional car '77 Dodge Monaco in an LAPD livery featuring an Aerodynic Cali lightbar setup like it has been seen in 'Terminator I' movie or smth. in of that kind .. that might help on that issue perhaps ok? .. nevermind .. ;)

Dark One

Sure, there might be some people not knowing it was a Dodge, let alone Monaco. There might be some people that didn't watched the movie in the first place. But the chase did make that particular Dodge Monaco (with Arnie behind the steering wheel) iconic car, considering that whatever we might think about the last movie, it got a cameo there (though only to get destroyed, again), you yourself posted an image of it, and once again it was a Monaco. ;)

Also, police cars from 'T.J. Hooker' belongs to fictional L.C.P.D. that only later on got identified in one episode as the Las Cruces Police Department. And the 'Blue Thunder' is science fiction, so the cars not being authentic, is not really an issue. They could have Whelen strobe lightbars, and it won't affect the movie in any way.

But, I see what are you trying to say. Lets ignore the Plymouth Fury altogether for now, both the real patrol cars and the stunt backup from the movie.

So... Frank, could you please make that movie car, the fictional 1977 Dodge Monaco of the 'Metropolitan Police of Los Angeles', with the Aerodynic lightbar (and the other details like the "to care and to protect" motto, 999076 registration plates, and the unit number 1874), as it appeared in 'The Terminator' movie?

WiLL

Yes, that be a Pretty Cool, Nice Fictional Request, rite? What D.one, said I like to have that, on my Backup, Team, for Summit too. My Suv's are to Good on there ;) need more Rollovers, crash.cars only ;) Etc :D
Traffic.Vers-'. I ment, would be Sweeet!  Frank...an add Arnies, face, an his, red eye hanging out. An thanks much DarkOne for the Request! I bet it only take him, less than 2 days, to get,her all Completed... LOLZ cause he's not a Slacker on Patrol? ;)

Frank I just examined your NYPD Plymouth Fury, Great work on the AeroDynic however you might want to add the base plank to the lightbar, I noticed your's is missing the bottom half.

Also to bring this back "on topic" to NY..Did you know they also used a Yankee-Dietz lightbar too on the Furys, Infact it got more use than the AeroDynic on the Furys, AeroDynic got most of it's use on the Diplomats and Gran Furys.

https://www.youtube.com/v/WoYL8-Hv1zE

They call it Signal Stat but one can clearly see it is the same Yankee-Dietz just under another name.

@Paul: yes I noticed that and I also have pictures of it -LOL .. 8)
A 'base plank' or whatever it is called is very well existing and is assigned to :OC part ??? .. have a look .. is it too small, incorrect or whatever, Paul? I'm clueless 'bout that .. ???

@Dark One and WiLL:
Quote from: Dark Onefictional 1977 Dodge Monaco of the 'Metropolitan Police of Los Angeles', with the Aerodynic lightbar (and the other details like the "to care and to protect" motto, 999076 registration plates, and the unit number 1874), as it appeared in 'The Terminator' movie

10-4 .. copy that, order is well read and accepted Sir .. :police: ^-^
All engines running within correct parameters and we're ready for lift-off (cannot help always quoting 'Apollo 13' movie .. -LOL)

Quote from: WiLL...an add Arnies, face, an his, red eye hanging out

I think his artificial face surface wasn't as destroyed in that scene as it then became later during the movie -LOL
Very much afraid that there isn't enough texture space left to map his actual face to the driver ..sry pal ???
Anyway .. who on earth would want that :( :P

But have you ever looked more closely at the 'Empire cop' from ver. III? Much similarities to a Terminator cop isn't it? I don't have HP anymore but can anyone send that? would then convert it to an HS file and add that to the car as the cop that'd be cool -LOL

Quote from: WiLLI bet it only take him, less than 2 days

Weeeell .. you're overestimating my abilities alot but I feel flattered as well thx bro .. although I must admit that the base car could very well be quickly done .. if there weren't those other details .. of which I'm not really sure if I can make them in such an overall completeness let alone finding pics or such .. but ok I'll see what I can do Sirs ;)

WiLL

Hi Frank it was just a Comment was all, from yesterday, was all , an you sure do alot.. Great Detail here.. Sure. Info i mean,an its Great! Have a Well,Safe weekend! getting the NYPD Unit now.   ^-^  ;)  8)

so u guys aren't still fed up with such old irons? hope so and thx J.. WiLL.. LOL

There might be more to come .. depends on .. u know what .. needn't be the only the Fury .. although it is one of most 'bad ass'd' cars ever ... ^-^

Paul Spain

You're on the right track Frank it's just the base isn't hidden under the lightbar as you have it and it's a wee bit taller and thinker, I'd say it's about the same as a old TwinSonic base in size but not quite as wide as one. I think the base on them was plastic, Not sure but if it was metal they never left it bare metal and always painted it black.

You may be all too right as always pal but I always keep in mind the polyload and optical rendition ingame .. this isn't HP2 or later where I can add and add details ... you cannot compare HS to newer versions where each and every detail is being added and displayed like on a fine scale model, ok that base is perhaps just another 8 polies or so but where's an end to that? I can as well model the mounting screws to it np for me well but who on earth sees that except for you? See I simply modelled that new AeroDynic from another DodgeBoy original car I can't even remember which one, why didn't he also add that base plate although DodgeBoy really was an exact and precise modeler? Must be a reason why ...

You know we share another same hobby or passion Model Railroading .. dunno if over there in the U.S. there's also that discrimination of 'rivet counters' .. that's what you probably are bro but others might be satisfied if things just look 'good enough' ...

go ahead modelling this Prussian G12 for the better as a lifetime job perhaps ... and tell us when you're finished ^-^
.. don't forget it's a three cylinders steam engine ...
