#61
Happy New Year folks .. ^-^

N.Y. (same initials like 'New Year' LOL) Fury is finished, how do you like it? see bottommost attached pics .. :police:

Has the highest polyload of all so far done Furys .. 4025 polies/682kB mesh because of the sophisticated lightbar and rear internal flashers .. good thing is that 'Empire' track wouldn't crash on whatever car you use ;)

... attached also the finalized car (Car.test.zip) for testing again ... has serial #35

and btw @WiLL, no the car wasn't at all used in Blues Brothers movie since the movie played in Illinois and not in New York but it was used alot in 'Ghostbusters' movie though and its succesor the Gran Fury/Diplomat, loved that movie in my youth .. :D

...

.. btw the historic Tennessee scheme looks also nice and somewhat decent on the Fury, what do you think?

would be easy to do with the current NYPD/NVHP scheme since that stripe is already remapped like that ..

North Carolina SP scheme also makes a very elegant paint scheme with the Fury .. :D

... pic of a restored historic car:

.. and seemingly a contemporay pic:

Cheers

Frank I have just what you need to make that car, Download this car and get the decals from it all but the 1979 (as they put that on there I guess to show it was a 1979 Chrysler Newport LOL) It's up on NFS Police H.Q., One of the older cars I did using Taigo's 1979 Dodge St. Regis, I chop shop modded it with parts here-there to make a 1979 Chrysler Newport and 1980-1981 Plymouth Gran Fury as well.

thx for that hint Paul, will certainly have a look! ^-^

.. can you -coincidentally- identify the model and/or type name of that large single beacon used on the NCSP car? It isn't a Dietz as for sure or is it? ... that factory sign looks like as if it was a 'Signal Stat' :police:

Dark One

Once again impressive work on the car! Kinda wish Baardk didn't make it with that tiny back window, but beggars can't be choosers.

And Tennessee indeed had interesting paint scheme even back in the day.

FranknFurter

thx Dark One .. yes the back window is indeed small .. although I already enlarged it a bit on the reworked base car :-\

Yeah TENNESSEE .. afraid we might need then another Hometown variant 'Lynchburg' featuring a famous Whiskey brewery =D

... or can we just adapt the 'Dolphin Valley' wine cellar for that? ^-^

The North Carolina State Trooper car has a FederalSignal PA light, Only gumball light that has the siren built into the base, It came in 4 bulb only models. I have the light as well as a 1979 Cherysler Newport of the NCHP I never released just yet I can send you.

so .. if there are no contradictions I will then send that 'New York .. New Year' NYPD Fury to Remko for an upload .. should perhaps alter the unit's number to '2017' still :police:

.. one more question folks .. I had also made a less polycostly variant of the NYPD Fury those days with an Aerodynic lightbar which also did exist in real like that .. should I also make a that upon the new Fury base or do you think us folks don't need that lower poly version? It is not much of an effort to do for me, just asking ... (see attached ZModeler pic of the old version ..)

... would be a nice task altering that old Aerodynic with transparency and some interior .. well .. but then again .. it wouldn't be a 'lowpoly' variant any longer -LOL

and thx alot again Paul, should be a CJ184 beacon on the NC cruiser, right? .. found out that lately after investigating dozens of pictures .. :o

the Tennessee scheme is attractive as hell but also doing that NC car with that large single beacon ... well ... maybe I should start a poll lately of which car to do as next .. ^-^

Go for it :). I'd love to test out your AeroDynic :D.

If you're talking about the tube shaped ones the thin one is JetSonic, AeroDynics are not thin, Remember Dukes Of Hazzard and the Hazzard county Sheriff cars on that? They had AeroDynic lightbars.

... or perhaps the FedSig JetStream, that's the one w/o a centre peaker.. ?

Was also being mounted to the NYPD Mustang GT ..

That's the Aerodynic that was later been mounted to NYPD Furys and Gran Furys/Diplomats replacing the old Signal Stat ..
Notice the same lighting scheme like on the former Signal Stat but compacted into a single lightbar w/ centre speaker as a progress so far .. ;)

https://www.youtube.com/v/p4LgyAHc2ew

.. also very typical with Californian b/w cruisers from CHP as seen in many TV shows and movies .. notice the 'California' setup with additional stoplight and rear amber warning flashlight .. which is a carmaker's nightmare each time .. :P

https://www.youtube.com/v/nG4ZeOUIcjQ

But what about my previous question, does it make sense to also make an NYPD Fury with that Aerodynic lightbar np so far and if so, what would be better, a simple opaque one like on the pic I had posted of it .. or transparent w/ interior what doesn't really mean a much decreased polycount compared to that somewhat complex Signal Stat setup variant :o

Paul Spain

Frank most (though not all) Aerodynic lightbars had either this set up.:
https://www.youtube.com/v/Vg-FtozgPcg

Or this set up.:

The TwinSonic version was mainly used by NYPD or ambulances, Not many police had it though a few did but most used either the Dukes Of Hazzard types or a rare version was the one used on later shows of T.J. Hooker (you'll see it on the 1979 Dodge St. Regis I just sent) that has just 3 parts on each side, 2 sets of flashers and only 2 rotators on each side as opposed to 3 like most had.

Yes, those were typical with County or local/City Police departments like LAPD and such, you're right Paul ..

That special 'California' setup was just used by the CHP I know, just wanted to show you what always is the problem with that setup either if it is put into a Twinsonic like on the '78 Monaco or into an Aerodynic/Aerotwin (that's the correct name, he has made a little mistake there) ... that darn frontal facing red stop light/rear amber flashlight combination .. ;

So will not make such a fuzz about the Aerodynic version since most of the time you see a traffic cruiser their lights are anyway lit as soon as you get near them -LOL

I don't recall ever seeing a CHP with that wierd AeroDynic TwinSonic but I have saw them use the typical Cali version as was used on Dukes Of Hazzard in the 2nd year up. In my old hometown of Zeigler we had a Dodge Diplomat back in the day that was very dark blue (almost black) with a white 6 point star and stripe and it had a red/white AeroDynic which had the typical 6 rotators and 2 front 2 rear flashers. I did BTW do a CHP version of the St. Regis with the AeroDynic as well. If you'd like it it's up on our site.
