KRYSTA-GG-

I've been importing custom cars to HS but after having more than 50, game just doesn't want to launch anymore....Does this means I can't have anymore cars than that and have to stick around 50 all the time or there is a way to pack as much as it gets??

RevveR

Some versions of NFS4 require 50, and some have a limit of 35, 47, etc. Mines has a limit of 68 :eek3:

Try removing cars one-by-one and see what limit your NFS4 can handle.

Not everything that counts is counted, and not everything that is counted counts.

yea i got limit of 50...is there a way to remove this dumb thing?

Lotec

Not a known one.  It might be encoded in a crackable part of the game, though.

@RevveR: 68 cars in nfs HS????,different versions of nfs HS??????????.

When you have more than 50 cars installed the game will start, but there's a message saying:BAD TEXT INDEX 0

BTW doesn't HS even crash if you try to use serial numbers higher than 50? Isn't that the main limitation?

when you use a serialnumber higher than 50, the game will run, but you can't race.

Game doesn't crash.:eek3::p It will only run the car which had that same serial number before if you take it for opponent.

@ Stylizer: I don't get your answer, sorry. What I mean is what happens if you use 99 as serial number as an example.

But anyway, like noise said, it won't run properly. Unfortunately. Is it like when you use the number 33 for a different car than the Knockout Truck?

I agree that I've never hear of running NFS4 with more than 50 cars installed at once - 51 maybe, but that's pretty much it.
What I always suggest though, is to simply create extra 'Cars' folders, like this:

- Go to your NFSHS\Data directory on your harddisc.
- Click on the 'Cars' folder and give it a different name (can be anything as long as it's different, like 'Cars_2')
- create a new folder, name that one 'Cars' instead.
- copy (copy, not move) the folders 'Knoc' and 'traffic' from your original Cars folder into your new one. I always copied the original Police cars in there as well, I never tried to leave them out, I'm not sure if you can - maybe it's worth a try if you never ever play Pursuit Mode.
- Now you can fill that new folder with new addon cars until you reach 50 again.

You can switch back to your original set of cars by changing the names of the two folders once again before you start the game. I used to have 5 of these alternative carsfolders installed at one time, including one that was 100% stock so that I could play online without problems. :)  This trick works for the 'Tracks' folder too. ;)

I manage my cars somewhat different using carmanager:

-I have 10 maps with a maximum of 100 cars (the limit in carmanager), alfabetically ordered.
-In carmanager I select the desired map (for example: Map A contains Alfa, Aston Martin, Audi......)
-Than I install the car(s) I want

Carmanager is a very practical tool, it even changes the serialnr. automatically (if necessary) when you install the car.
