Why are Subaru and Porsche the only people doin boxer engines nowadays?

And what are the pros and cons in a boxer engine compared to regular in-line engines?

I don't think it's more power, because the Impreza 1.6 has only 95bhp compared to the class standard of ~120

try to do a large 8 cylinder boxer. Doesnt really work.
