Which transmission do you prefer?

Well, the question is simple. :)
I started with the automatic one because is  easyer, but one day I used the manual one in the NfSU because the game was so boring and easy and I wanted to try something different and I realise that the sensation and the feeling is completily different and is much better. Since then, I always use the manual one. And I have played the old games again just to drive with the manual one and seem to be much better. Oh yeah, And I must admit that I love to start with the 6th gear in the new games just to listen the melody of the engines. :D

I chose Automatic. Cos' it's easier. And I'm LAZY. :D:D:D

Sinister

automatic on pc; manual on consoles.

I use automatic most of the time since I don't feel like pressing more buttons constantly.

Auto: It's easier, and dosen't slow me down in a race

Car Freak

Auto: because i'm lazy. :p

Actually, it depends from game to game. For all NFS games (except UG2), i used auto. But there are other games where I use manual.

Always Manual. It's even more easy!
Many things can be greatly done manual. Car responds faster for my needs, larger drift points, better curves(infinite possibilities)... high speed all the way. (After you gain the habbit you'll never change to auto! believe me! i've done with all NFS's.
And always with keyboard (on PC) (and PSX Pad on PS)
I wonder, for those who prefer auto, do you guys have driven a car in reality???

Car Freak

Nope, I've only driven a go-kart.. :p

But if you watch The Amazing Race, you'll notice that sometimes (girls usually), people get stuck when trying to drive a stick shift... I wonder why? It can't be that hard can it?

You are completily right. I can't drive with automatic transmission, I feel that I have loss something and I like difficult challenges, and I prefer to do it for myself. I have never drive a real car, but I guess that for people who drive it's easier to use the manual transmission.

I usually use auto, yes, because I'm lazy. I'm just all thumbs when I'm trying to do manual, but maybe it's just something I have to get used to. Especially in pursuit races in Most Wanted I'm glad I only have to worry about accelerating, braking and steering.

But I suppose you would have a point in that manual is more involving, maybe I should try it anyway in races that are just about clean racing and getting fast laps; the entertainment value for those usually don't last very long for me - in NFS games, that is.

Zpectre

I use manual in the older games. In NFS5, for example, using manual is crucial to drive on the snow, since, when you shift to higher gears, less power is sent to the drive wheels and thus there's a smaller chance of spinning the car on slippery surfaces. With auot you can't do this.

In newer NFS games, I prefer auto because the cars are unrealistically fast and there's a lot of stuff on the track to avoid. Besides, it seldom makes a difference in performance whether I use manual or automatic.

Nope. I've never been to Escape... But i went to Kart World in Jurong... Oh, and there was this indoor kart track in Fremantle, Perth, where you could drift the kart... so fun!
