In Spain the Daewoo was rebadged two years ago as Chevy to promote this brand, but have underpowered engines too...
Then the Corvette is sold as it's own brand to keep it's name and fame...

I think they try to rebadge the cars just to change people's mindsets, from a 'budget' Daewoo (aka cheap but lousy) to a reliable 'American' brand. It's all about sales figures, I guess.
