I have got a lot of cars without showcase. I made videowall for cars haven't got it, then:
How can i make showcases?
I know how to use fshtool, how to convert the files to qfs, but not make a showcase.

Lotec

I was wondering the same thing

Lotec

Sorry for the double post.  But what cars have you made vidwalls for,  and would you mind emailing some of them to me

Rafel

if you want, i can send my vidwalls, but if you prefer, i can explain you in a tutorial how to make a vidwall.
Exemple of vidwall made by me:

No high quality, i know.
I'll do a list of them, and if you want i'll sendthem.

(sorry my bad english)

Showcase - do you mean the one which shows the car's stats or the slideshow with real-life pics?

Rafel

Yes.
You made a showcase for your new beetle.

XJ220

Wrong answer :P lol I still don't know which you mean because my New Beetle got both. Anyway:

For a basic showcase with the car's stats, you need two big vidwalls. They are placed in the same folder as the "normal" vidwall. Their names are the car's ID + 1/2. E.g. for EA's Camaro it's CCam1 and CCam2. For the exact dimensions of those new vidwalls, simply un-QFS an original one.

It's a bit more complicated for the slideshow, esp. if the car you want to do one for was/is manufactured by a company not originally featured in HS. But if you want to do one anyway, post here and I'll write a short tutorial ;)

Rafel

I want :D
Thanks in advance NJ

XJ220

I was afraid you would say so :D

Okay. First off, these are the files that you need (with * standing for a character and # for a digit):

1. ****.QFS (this is the one moving across your screen from right to left)
2. sh****.QFS (some generic dummy file which AFAIK tells HS that a certain car has a showcase/slideshow)
3. SL****##.QFS (these are the actual pics)

So... let's start with 1.:
This one is a bit hard to do, because it takes some time until the alpha channel for the brand logo is set up correctly (so that it looks good). As you might have noticed, this file's name is a bit untypical. It consists of the first four letters of the car's brand (e.g. JAGU for the XKR). The brand can be edited in the FEDATA files of the car.viv (in the field "manufacturer"). If it would say RAMMSTEIN in that field for some odd reason, this first showcase file would have to be named "RAMM.QFS". That means that all cars of a certain brand share this file, e.g if you installed an XJ220, it'd share this file with EA's XKR.

2.:
Just copy an original one and change its name from e.g. "shP911.QFS" to "sh****.QFS" where the stars are the car's ID (like "CCam" for EA's Camaro or maybe "Léon" for a certain Seat, you get the idea).

3.:
Again the stars are the car's ID (like "BMW5" for EA's M5 (E39)). Copy an existing set and change the names corresponding ("SLBMW501" becomes "SLLéon01" e.g.). I'm not sure whether HS expects a certain number of pictures, probably not, but I haven't tried yet so I'm not sure.

ANYWAY I hope this is little guide is intelligible. If not, well...

Thanks NJ.
Lotec, sorry, but i have had no time. I promise you i'll send the vidwalls.
