Benazie Issue (local media and eye-witness report)

Respected Benazeer Bhutto was born in 1953 and after the hanging of her father, she became the youngest and first Lady Prime Minister in history of Islamic Countries just in the age of 35.

She leaded the country very well in her two reigns.

According to local media of Pakistan, Benazir, in Rawalpinidi, Pakistan, after she came out after addressing with her supporters, she boarded her white Toyota Landcruiser which was imported and heavily armoured equiped with fully bulletproof and bomb/mobile jammer technologies.

while the driver started the vehicle, she asked her driver to open the sun roof so that she can wave hands to her supporters. Two other were also sitting with Benazir in the vehicle. She popped out of sun roof and just after a couple of seconds, an assasian armed with AK-47 shot her down. First bullet hit her head, 2nd her neck and 3rd somewhere around the neck. She fell down on the floor of vehicle. Driver tried to get out of mess rapidly but the same shooter was also the suicide bomber. He drive into the mess and hit her vehicle with his car. Media says that due to bomb proof vehicle, there was no more damage to the boarders of the vehicle and they were safe.

Benazir was quickly taken to nearest hospital (General Hospital) and she was kept under nebulizer for an hour but there was no sign of life in her. Doctor says that she was dead on the spot (1st bullet in head) but they tried if she may breathe or something.

(i am the eye-witness of what I am going to tell u following)

After she was declared dead, whole country got into panic and there was heavy firing and blasts on the roads in whole Sindh (her native province). and these things are still on.

Shopkeepers and all the eomployers shut down everything in whole country and there is not even a single shop right now which is open. If someone opens the shop, people from her party quickly destroy eveything in shop and beat the shopkeeper.

After sometime, protestents came and they broke a hospital in front of me and a shop of a property dealer.

Security is very tight and poilce is on high alert. Highway is totally sealed. Lahore (capital of Punjab, my province) is also totally sealed. No transportation at all. no private vehicles on roads. people also burnt a lot of vehicles and gas stations and banks and hospitals. Law has totally been violated. people are wandering on roads with loaded 9MM pistols and AK-47 and doing air-firing.

Someone set out the issue that Al-Qaida has taken the responsibilty, but President Farooq Laghari refused it.

Elections were after 12 days. Now there is no current leader of Peoples Party (benazir party). Nawaz League has bycotted the electoins. Imran Khan already bycotted it. Jamat-e-Islami is nowhere. Now only left is President-Ex General Pervez Musharaf who may again lead the country in this crisis. Bush says that elections are not to be dismissed at all the costs.

When the issue occured, i was driving car on highway and I didnt know it. On my way, some people tried to stop my car but I drove into them and without applying brake, i drove out of them fastly. I thoght that y these people are stopping me. But thx to God that i didnt stop the car or they would have burnt my car or something. They could also hurt me. but all the thanks to God. After a minute, one of my cousins inquired that where was I? i told him that i am on highway, he strictly said that immidiately move to home and dont even try to come out. Then he told me that what had happened. I was scared and then i camt to know that y those people were stopping me, i drove to my fast to home and uptill now, I am in home. Only went out on foot for buying some cigarettes and saw that protest who broke the hospital.


Her burrial was done today noon and as transport was totally shut down, people went to her native village on foot, 25Kms. Some people tried to disturb the funeral ceremony, but police controlled them by firing tear gas.

I saw that on the news man..just insane.  She was a great lady and to killer her was an affront to freedom and peace.  I mean, DAMN!  WTF!  It sure sucks that people are getting beaten for opening shops..how the hell are people supposed to eat and stuff if no stores are open?  how could you get groceries?  Insanity.pure insanity...

latest reports say that shooter missed all three shots and doctor says that she was died to shock waves of bomb which shaked the sun roof lever hitting her head and breaking her skull. No bullet was found inside. (Interior Ministry, Pakistan)

Reports say that no post martum was done.

Now we are getting only what media is publishing.. what is reality...who knows...

when i first heard it on the TV, it was late and i didnt really think anything about it (actually, it didn't occur to me). Only the next day when I saw the newspaper did i realize the "Bhutto assasinated" headline's meaning...
Anyway i think that statement by Musharraf's gov abt her hitting her head on the sunroof was a cover up that they didn't provide enough protection and security for her, or worse, that they orchestrated the whole thing in the 1st place... I suppose we get more news and opinions here, since we're in asia and closer to the event...
