Cant we maybe rename this Thread to the NFS PS Pc ver.
Thread.  Sounds like a good idea maybe? Instead of Xbox NFSPS?
does the Tracks Change it all instead of Nevada all the time.??

I think the overall concept is a bit strange.  A game called Pro Street with closed track races......weird.  I wish they would have given an example of the upgrade system in the demo.  As far as the actual game play the cars felt heavy but more realistic than the past titles which was fun and it had a good sense of speed.  The worst thing was the crashes, the felt very silly without the large amount of debris that would really happen.  If you're going to add a feature you need to fully add it or what's the point?

My real car is a 2007 Mustang GT.  Pretty cool driving your car in the game. :bigthumb:

I found the demo far too easy.
The speed challenge is simply a matter of leaving your shots right before the checkpoint. I totaled a few times on hardest difficulty, mostly because of AI cars that were rolling (literally) along the road.
Grip racing was phenomenally easy, win first time on hardest difficulty, by more than 15 seconds.

What I found most annoying was the controller setup.... not meant for PC, is it?

The PS demo so far attracted me more than Carbon did, but like many here, I was getting surprisingly poor framerates. Sure, my pc could have been better, but with my AthlonXP 3200, 1 gig RAM and 256mb 6600GT card I was struggling to reach 20 fps unless I turned everything low and played in 800 x600. :(
That surprised me, since NFS usually played pretty okay on lower systems (I played and finished Most Wanted on the PC I had before my current one)
I hope that's just poor optimization of the demo and that the full game will run easier.

Second slight disappointment is that I couldn't get my MS Sidewinder FF wheel (yeah, it's old) setup so that I could use the left pedal for braking. :squint:
But I'll admit I haven't really looked very around for any solutions to these issues yet. who knows.

I do like the daytime atmosphere and the overall graphics. Music's not bad either. Hard for me to properly judge the physics in the current circumstances, but at least they feel 'interesting.' Is it me or does the car feel less stable at higher speeds? I mean not only at the Speed Challenge but also at the Grip Race.

Hopefully the full version will make it possible to skip the Slow-motion sequence when you crash... also, does anyone know if PS will have a Photo mode option like Carbon had?

Oh, and the standard button for screencaps is F12. ;) (Screenshots are saved in the installation directory)

I'm gonna play it again... Getting a new GFX. :p:D

Again, I'm feeling disappointed by this... Remember when EA said they wanted to make it more "realistic"? Well, they've certainly managed to fail at that...
