Right now I want to know if I should switch from my comp:

Win Vista Home Premium
2.4GHz
2.0 GB RAM (1918 RAM to be exact)
620 GB Hard Drive
394 MB video card

to my brothers computer

Win XP Pro
2.8 GHz
1.0 RAM (1024 to be exact)
590 GB Hard Drive
256 MB video card

I cant choose! :ugh:

All it sounds like you are doing is giving up ram for CPU speed....

ThEoNeS

But does RAM help the game run better? I'm not much of a computer nut... (no offense)

sure...but the CPU speed is also important. I used to play Carbon with just 512mb of RAM and it works fine for me. I think that 1Gb is more than OK for Carbon.
Can you specify the models of both video cards?

ThEoNeS

Mine is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE and the other is a NVIDIA ASUS N6200/GeForce 6200

Haha... I have a 128MB GeForce 6200... And trust me... Carbon does not work too nicely... lag even when EVERYTHING is turned off... and it doesn't even look good anyways... Well... considering you have a 256MB GFX Card or better... you might have a better chance... but a 7-series GeForce will be much better.

Yeah, MW's right. I'm going to buy a 7600 this week. However, I have been playing Carbon with an fx 5500 256mb and I never had any problem. There were two unable options but the rest worked fine, even in high detail, max resolution and, ok, just 2x anti-aliasing. But I used to play just with 500mb of RAM.

Ehh, i'm going to install Carbon on my computer. I'm at 73%
