No, you didn't. If you're going to compare yourself against online records, TURN YOUR TUNING OFF.

You see, online records are done WITHOUT tuning. The game simply doesn't let you tune cars online. If you have ever done any serious racing without tuning, you would know that the McLaren F1 is MUCH faster than the CLK-GTR on Summit.

From what I can tell, your video shows a lap time of 2:13.xx (but I might be wrong, its pretty hard to see). The best record online is currently 02:20.56, done by 007 (aka EAOAgent, _Alonso_). I have heard that 2:19.xx is possible.

Meanwhile, that video has tuning written all over it. While I can't get a top time on Summit, I have seen replays of top times, and let me tell you... there is very little room for error. Your video is not like that; though you do have a basic grasp of some of the lines, you aren't perfect on the majority of your corners. And you're driving the wrong car.

In the future, don't post videos.... save replays and ghosts instead and pass those around. And don't claim to be the best... because chances are very good that you're not. (speaking from experience here:p)

Besides... I thought that thread was locked. Maybe you didn't get the hint.

cya online

unBtable

PS. If I can, I'll tune a CLK offline and see what I can do, and post that time in this thread (if it isn't locked first). I'd like to see how you match up in reality.

Sinister

oliver, you may think your times are great, but honestly i dont think anyone else cares about laprecords like you do., and i will agree with unbtable in saying tuned cars aren't legit in record keeping.

Personally, I am starting to wonder why people are so obsessed with records  If you're going to bother, turn off the tuning, and save the replay. Then you've got legit proof. I know that w/o tuning the F1 is faster. I can't get a record (closest I ever got was 2.31.69), and I haven't tried in a long time, but you still got the wrong car for what you're trying. The F1 is amazingly better on summit, and most all the twisty courses like rocky Pass and County Woods and the like.

Car Freak

ok, so what's the point of showing this to us? There's a lot more to games than just records... And while I don't doubt your driving skills, i think you're quite the braggart...

I mean, I managed the semi-finals in Singapore's WCG round with Carbon, and you don't see me showing my lap times off to everyone... (Though if there's anyone who wants to compare... :D)

and Oliver, i'm not trying to insult you or watever, i'm just a very frank and to-the-point person
Lead me not to temptation....I can find it on my own

Dark Ritual

Sorry if I tried to hijack this thread, but I just found out there's loads of differences when tuning and no tuning. (I tested this in NFS3 although it is not NFS4).

I ran less than 2 min (1:53:57) with Tuning.
I ran a bit over 2 min (2:00:38) without Tuning.
Both are CLKs. so by what I saw the proof, the CLK was totally tuned.

I drove without tunnings and cheats on summit and hometown with  McLaren F1 GTR and my time on summit was 2:20.18 and on hometown under 59 seconds. I saved the replays and ghosts of that races. My corners on video werent perfect, because I drove without traction control. If anyone is interested too watch replay, just say.

Don't you get what we've all been saying!? No offense, but I don't think anyone other than you cares about all your "amazing" records and whatever else you wish to brag about. Let it go, man. NFS is about fun and races. Not everything in life is a competition.

Most of the records you see online are done without any assists at all... if a race is done with assists on, it is isn't used for ratings, and it isn't displayed on the 'track records' page.

It's just the way its done online.

That said, yes, it would be nice to see a replay... I'll PM you my email :)

Oliver Oresic

What about nfs2 (there I have the best skills), nfs3 and nfs5?

Sinister

the best compared to whom?

Ok, I've watched your replays, and put them through my replay checker too.
Results:
You were right about the times, but those replays DO have tuning. And some assists. I'm not talking about editing the cars.... I'm talking about the in-game options. Go into the car-tuning menu, press 'reset to defaults.' Make sure that all assists are off, and that damage is set to 'On' or 'Physics-Only'.

Another note, maybe 'perfect' wasn't the right word. Maybe I should have said 'agressive.'

Here's a place for you to see what some of the online folks are capable of: (all are without tuning or assists)

I recommend you have a look at the 'EAOAgent' folder as well as the 'GER' folder.

What agressive? I am not bad, you saw!
