Yep. Unfortunately, it's not PS1 nfs4 AI, but luckily, PC nfs4 AI has no rubberbanding, that means, it's somehow acceptable. The thing is that they still are very slow in the corners. But you get pretty good challenges against +1 higher class. But it depends. When you race a class B or class C car (traffic car) and it has a well made opponent acceleration table, you ain't got no chance against those opponents. But the faster the actual car gets, the more they have to brake and need to be slower than you in the corners

PC AI hasn't typical rubberbanding, but game has two states of AIs .AI is just too bad to notice.

If AI is far ahead of the player, they are set to "normal" state, but if AI is close to the player or behind player, they are set to "madland" state and are much faster. The MADLAND cheat activates the "madland" state everywhere.

Are you sure? I don't think the AI has it's actual top speed when not using MADLAND cheat. But i'm not sure, never tested it. All i know is that when not using MADLAND cheat, AI has it's top speed limited to let's say 70% of the car's top speed. With MADLAND cheat, it's exactly 95% of the car's top speed (talking about "Maximum velocity in m/s" parameter in the carp.txt)

I tested this a lot. AI lap time with MADLAND cheat is similiar with AIs behind player and without cheat. IF AI is far ahead of the player, lap time is slower and top speeds are lower. Also depends on AI type - Sleepy's top speed is lower than Ace's top speed. MADLAND makes all AIs almost same fast.

I noticed this when im testing new AIs. Mostly you just can see AI drives slower, bigest problems are S curves and sharp turns. What works for AAA class and MADLAND cheat often didn't work for A or B class or may be problematic without cheat or with PRO difficulty or weather. AI may look weird, often it's dragged to the side or may crash. For this reason its not possible make AAA class comptetitve without increase AI's AAA class cars acceleration. I had to make my HAWK's AI acceleration a lot faster than player's acceleration to make the AI competitive at least on tracks with my AI.

I've just tested this as a cop without the MADLAND cheat. The AI had about 85% of the car's top speed. I couldn't try it out fully yet but i don't think that the AI ever has MADLAND difficulty in hot pursuit mode. What i really didn't know before was that every AI has it's own top speed. It's incredible how important it is to always use the MADLAND cheat

Another problem is the great jump WiLL has implemented, there might be occasions where the AI will just steer to the very right and crash right into the castle walls. But there is nothing i can do against it on a full grid race

Yeah. They are really fast. Btw no more bot speed decrease in the last section, which is surprising.

Well, unfortunately, i can't make them as fast as PomFrit's AIs, but at least it's somehow comparable to the EA one. And somehow i couldn't manage the AI to go full send at the sharp S section before the finish. Needs more investigation
