Zpectre - I still don't see how releasing new cars is hurting the community... sure, I understand that they aren't really PU and HP2 quality, but let those that convert to HP2 and PU worry about that. :p

Personally, I don't use mod cars in anything other than single race. All the pursuits, knockouts and tournaments I ever do are done online, and therefore with the standard or EP cars. I only do career play about once every two years or so, just to see how far I can get without damaging my car at all while still winning absolutely every race, first time... (read: it's not much of a challenge anymore)

I see how using higher-poly cars for career play could make it much more difficult, if not impossible. Especially for those that don't have the graphics to handle it.

My suggestion is to make a fairly high or mid-range detail car, and then a much lower detail car that could be used in a full grid for career play. Though to be honest, I have no idea of how much work this is...

To do that I need to convert the car twice - a little bit too time consuming for the car itself, upgrades (I used to love HS career), cop variants...

I have already taken the first step regarding the project's progress: managed to install and run NFSHS in my new machine. The addon cars look kick ass, especially my new pursuit GTO. :D I'd really love to run the game in DX8 mode because it looks awesome but it has a lot of graphic bugs. I'll also try the glide wrapper.

Finally I'll edit the career and make a super-hard version compatible with higher poly cars... :D

@buck: The game needs a Pursuit Lambo badly!

@all: I still need to release updated stuff but most of these new versions won't be part of the project:

Corvette C6 and C6-R
Porsche 996s
Bimmer M3s (all versions)
Vauxhall Monaro
HSV GTO

And I'd like to know if you want muscle cars, because then I can axe a few cars I put on the list but don't really see the need for converting. RX-8, Clio and Skyline are some of them. The Skyline I guess will be made by the people at Memphis & Freak-DS site in less polies and with dash so I guess I could be spared the work (besides there can't be more Nissans than Bimmers can it?).

Yes it does need a pursuit Lambo, but make it a Gallardo LP 550/4 instead, or a Gallardo Superlegerra, I am not a fan of the Murc really.  IMO anyways.  A pursuit 2008 Frod Shelby Mustang GT500 KR or a Shelby Mustang GT500 "Eleanor" as a pursuit car would rock too!

Muscle cars are a must.  But, balance is needed too so I say for now try to pick a decent mix, of all types of cars, then maybe later on down the road you can add to the 48 cars with some extra rides that we can pick or choose to our liking.  Personally I like the Skyline and the RX-8 (looked for one for a while) but the Clio, yes, it can go, IMO.

Any chance of getting a Corvette with the monster LS9 engine yet???????????????

The Clio is my puppy. :D

Seriously though, it would smoke all the cars in Class B except maybe the Z. It is a mid-engine rear wheel drive vehicle with 250 bhp.

Some other ideas:

- Duracell Detroit Muscle Extender Pack: Get the best of old Detroit works for absolutely NO cost! Featured cars are:

Chevrolet Camaro SS
Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray '67
Dodge Challenger R/T
Dodge Charger R/T
Plymouth Hemi Cuda
Plymouth Road Runner
Pontiac GTO '65
Shelby G.T.500

- Pepsi Twist Le Mans Extender Pack: Get these famed racecars and smoke the competition before anyone else! What's more, you get them for FREE! Featured cars are:

Aston Martin DBR9
BMW M3 E46 GTR
Chevrolet Corvette C6-R

A good mock at EA for making us pay for a McLaren which sounds like a V8. :p

Cooya!

Hi Zpectre!
Great idea to fill NFS4 with 48 modern NFS cars and I really love your carlist - just one little mistake: the list is lacking the Lotus Europa S! Scrap the Chevy Cobalt or a japanese car for it and the list is perfect! ;)

PS: I love classic muscle cars but i don´t think they will fit in your mod very well... would be great if you´d make a little extra-mod with classic muscle only afterwards.

Cooya!, I missed you man!

The Europa is cool and I'll definitely include it, since my list consisted of only 46 cars. The last one I'll think about later.

I'd like these cars to complement your NFSHS mod, so people can choose between classic and modern NFS or mix and match as they desire and race them in your awesome tracks. ;)

@ Zpectre, where are these Tracks CoolYa has made? whats there Names? I never seen any them..Just Curious is all.

They haven't been released yet (they're actually part of a mod so don't expect to download them any time soon), but some Screenshots Of The Day here at NFSGarage feature them. They are racetracks modeled after Raceway 1 and 2.

Big news here, I've been able to make the ProStreet plugin from ZModeler 2.1.0 work in 2.0.9, so I'm finally able to import ProStreet cars (I tested 240SX and M3 E92). :D They will take longer to convert than Carbon cars because of so many little useless parts, and the seats aren't positioned correctly, but it's doable. The program dangerously crashes sometimes though.

The car list is updated with Lotus Europa S and Honda S2000 in Class B.

These are upgrade ideas for the three cars which only need the bodies (the Murciélago I think I'll have to convert again):

Should I keep the Mercedes' air brake in the upgrade (the moving wing) or add a fixed spoiler (without moving wing then)? I'm partial towards the latter, nothing too exaggerated to avoid ruining the car.

The Class AAA cars will only be upgradable once. Levels 1 and 2 will be the stock bodies, which will cost $0 and not impact the car's performance. To actually upgrade the cars you'll need to buy level 3 which will be very expensive... :D Class AA cars will function similarly but will have level 2 as well. I'm doing this so the game works correctly and to emulate the fact these high-end cars can't be modified much. This however doesn't mean you'll see a Cobalt outrunning a McLaren. Upgrades will make sense.

Price of upgrades will depend on the price of the car, and, since all the cars are much faster than the original ones there will be an increase in prices (expect over $1,000,000 for some of the highest tier cars), with a corresponding increase in the amount of money you'll get for races. Ah, and play legit - no "GATES" cheat allowed! :D

WiLL

Nice PaL! Are thos the Converted ones in your Editor?
They Look like Scratch made ones?
Hmm
No Gates Cheat, Ahh Thats Terrible = NFSWizard Fedata`Edit ;)

They're the Most Wanted #1 kits (the #2 ones make them look like different stuff).
